Rush Limbaugh was arrested today and charged with one count of prescription fraud (correction: Rush will not be charged if he meets requirements listed in press release below):
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Rush Limbaugh was arrested Friday on prescription drug charges, law enforcement officials said.
Limbaugh turned himself in to authorities on a warrant issued by the State Attorney’s Office, said Teri Barbera, a spokeswoman for the State Attorney’s Office.
The conservative radio commentator came into the jail at about 4 p.m. with his attorney Roy Black and bonded out an hour later on a $3,000 bail, Barbera said.
The warrant was for fraud to conceal information to obtain prescription, Barbera said.
Black said his client and authorities reached a settlement on a single count charge of doctor shopping filed Friday by the State Attorney will be dismissed in 18 months.
Prosecutors seized Limbaugh’s records after learning that he received about 2,000 painkillers, prescribed by four doctors in six months, at a pharmacy near his Palm Beach mansion. They contend that Limbaugh engaged in “doctor shopping,” or illegally deceived multiple doctors to receive overlapping prescriptions.
Limbaugh has not been charged and maintains he’s innocent. He has acknowledged he became addicted to pain medication, blaming it on severe back pain, and took a five-week leave from his radio show to enter a rehabilitation program in 2003.
I’ll post more information as I get it.
Update:
Drudge has the above picture on his site which may be Rush’s mug shot. If so, then he took a page from the Tom DeLay playbook and smiled so as to keep the liberals from gleefully plastering it all over their websites, t-shirts, coffee mugs etc. Drudge has Attorney Black’s statement:
“I am pleased to announce that the State Attorney’s Office and Mr. Limbaugh have reached an agreement whereby a single count charge of doctor shopping filed today by the State Attorney will be dismissed in 18 months. As a primary condition of the dismissal, Mr. Limbaugh must continue to seek treatment from the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years. This is the same doctor under whose care Mr. Limbaugh has remained free of his addiction without relapse.
“Mr. Limbaugh and I have maintained from the start that there was no doctor shopping, and we continue to hold this position. Accordingly, we filed today with the Court a plea of ‘Not Guilty’ to the charge filed by the State.
“As part of this agreement, Mr. Limbaugh also has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation. The agreement also provides that he must refrain from violating the law during this 18 months, must pay $30 per month for the cost of “supervision” and comply with other similar provisions of the agreement.
“Mr. Limbaugh had intended to remain in treatment. Thus, we believe the outcome for him personally will be much as if he had fought the charge and won.”
The actions taken today are as follows:
The State Attorney has filed a single charge of doctor shopping with the Court. The charge is being held in abeyance under the terms of an agreement between the State and Mr. Limbaugh.
Mr. Limbaugh has filed a plea of “Not Guilty” with the Court.
The formal agreement between Mr. Limbaugh and the State Attorney will be filed with the Court on Monday. The terms of the agreement are substantively as follows:
Ø Mr. Limbaugh will continue in treatment with the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years.
Ø After Mr. Limbaugh completes an additional 18 months of treatment, the State Attorney has agreed to drop the charge.
Ø Mr. Limbaugh has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation.
The prosecutor should pay the $30,000 fine since he’s the one who initiated this witch hunt.
Rush addressed the settlement on his website; however, there isn’t a link attached to it right now.
Update II: Rush’s link is now live.
Update III: About Rush’s arrest (it technically wasn’t an arrest since Rush turned himself in), Lucianne says “He’ll be fine. It sounds worse than it is.”

The Bell rang & you salivated on your keyboard:
“Not broad enough. They won’t be satisfied until talk radio is shut down, right wing blogs are silenced, and you and I are bound and gagged.”
Not one LimBARF antagonist on this thread posted any such bilge. Your minimal, sycophantic brain is simply formulating ( or is the word, “foaming”)w/ the sort of bilge that you have been trained like a dog to respond to by your prating Svengali the Fat. This of course is what happens when you yield up the few neurons you have to a Meister Propagandist.
And again,
Wav_man, you further slavered on your keyboard:
“Freedom of speech for all, as long as it doesn’t offend their view and sensibilities.”
Not even remotely did any poster on this thread suggest such a thing. What you have not quite grasped from your MahaRushee is simply that the MahaRushee alone is the Meister of fabricating out of whole clothe ( and he does that quite well) and you minions are simply meant to do your duty and swallow the Meister’s regurgitated chyme.
Minions w/ minimal neurons should leave the propaganda fabrication to the expert. You were intended to listen & swallow.
Is it just me, or does it sound like many of the lefties won’t be happy until El Rushbo is executed for his crimes?
Pity the poor lefty moonbats: they’ve been trying for over 4 years to gin up a scandal, but look at their meager results: Enron went nowhere, Worldcom went nowhere, the ‘Downing Street Memo’ disappeared, Abramoff is fast falling off the radar, ‘Fitzmas’ is turning out to be a bust, Air America is hemorrhaging what little audience share it had, which wasn’t much to begin with, so they’re grasping at whatever straw they possibly can, no matter how weak and flimsy, and waving it around like a prize trophy. Ye gods, how pathetic.
Is it just me, or does it sound like many of the lefties won’t be happy until El Rushbo is executed for his crimes?
You’ve got it. Rush Limbaugh has declared his moral and spiritual superiority to everyone left of the ultimate right for more years than you’ve been wearing long pants, and now the fucker is in the criminal justice system. The accuser stands accused; those who exalt themselves will be humbled. The nail that sticks up will be hammered down, and now it’s Rush’s turn.
Don’t sweat it. Some noted liberal savant will step up and make a fool of him or herself presently, and then you can get some payback. Meanwhile, shut the fuck up and accept the fact that the guy has committed crimes, and that the cops, having once tasted blood, will keep coming back until it’s all gone.

DING!
Your bell keeps ringing! You must respond!
From astigafa:
I love how concise and rational these responses continue to be. Keep them coming! You are revealing your true selves and your hatred and bile.

The ultimate practioner of Hate has been your Bilge Meister, Rush the Oinker.
This fat sow has practiced Clinton hate since 1992 & it continues now even though Clinton is 6 years gone.
For you sycophantic LimBARF puppies to cry “hate” when your Liar & Twister of the Truth has been the Ultimate Distiller of Hate for his entire career is beyond ludicrous. But it is the Ultimate in Hypocrisy. In that, the Propaganda Meister has trained you superbly. I am sure the MahaRushee smiles favorably when he sees how easily you all have swallowed his regurgitated chyme as you foam & spew out Absurdity..
Ok mac44, I’ll respond to your amusing pontifications:
Thank you for your accessment of me. But I’ll put my IQ score up against your anyday. I’m not the smartest guy in the world, but I know how to think for myself, not regurgitate the garbage that you spew all the time. I think it says more about you than me.
No, what you have not grasped is that what Limbaugh does is express his opinion, which he does well. He gets under your skin, doesn’t he? I am free to listen, agree when I do, and disagree when I don’t. Plus, I have an “off” switch on my radio that I use when I get tired of something that he or any other pontificator says. Apparently other folks didn’t by radios with that switch, or failed to read the instructions on theirs. As to the statement that he fabricates, I assume you are saying, everything out of whole cloth, yes there are some things that he fabricates. Intentionally to get a rise out of the likes of you. It takes a keen mind to see through the satire.
No, myrmidons like you were intended to spout the BS that you continually spew. The rest of us are free to think, accept what we see as reasonable, and reject the rest. It’s a beautiful thing.

You regurgitated on your keyboard: “You are revealing your true selves and your hatred and
bile.”
Read your bible, you heathen….
God created man. And all was Good and God was pleased. And then LimBARF sateth naked on his fat ass in Eden & lookethed around, asking, ” And what can I create in appreciation to My Lord?”
And he beganeth to ruminate and fulminate and he foamethed as he belched and pontificated and then he speweth forth from his vast girth the first voluminous river of bile to appeareth on Earth. And he looked around at the fuming green river he thst he had brought forth and he was pleased and said. It is good.”

Oops, “buy” in the last post, not by. This wireless keyboard skips sometimes.
From the wise keyboard of mac44:
Funny, I thought mine read in Genesis 1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…” I’ll go look.
You must be reading from 1st Parenthesis. [I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there now.]
wav_man
slobbering again on his keyboard: “Thank you for your accessment of me. But I’ll put my IQ score up against your anyday.”
I imagine that from where you come, you intended to say “yurin”” rather than “your” as “your” is an adjective, with no noun to modify in the instance above.
Further to your tantrum above, I never leveled an accusation that you regurgitated my garbage all the time that you appear to claim. Gawd knows, I wouldn’t count on you to regurgitate anything that I said. But from your comments, you’ve been mightily lapping up the LimBARF bilge, and apparently for quite some time.
Enron went nowhere, Worldcom went nowhere, the ‘Downing Street Memo’disappeared Abramoff is fast falling off the radar‘Fitzmas’ is turning out to be a bust“ I don’t know where you’ve been this week or what is worse where you expect to be reading next week, but stay seated OregonMuse. These stories are not over by a long shot until the fat lady or Abramoff , Liddy, Lay, Rove…are finished singing or denying.
mak44 spouted:
No. I intended to say ‘your’. Some other folks might say “yurin” “hisin” “herin” “theirin”, but I don’t. I haven’t run in to too many people around here that talk like that. Maybe 30 years ago, but not now.
I suppose you are from an area where everyone is morally superior in intelect and thought. At least that’s what you think. Your posts indicate that. I’m proud to be from where I am. I was born and grew up in a suburb of Greenville, South Carolina. Spent time in Columbia, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia. I now live in an Atlanta suburb, northwest of the city. My job takes me to different places around the world, I spent a couple of months in El Salvador in 2004. Spent almost 2 months in Mexico last year. This year, I’ve only spent a couple of days in Mexico. Looks like this year will be mostly the US and Canada. Everywhere I’ve been, they have asked me where I grew up. I’m proud to tell them.
Regarding my ‘tantrum’ as you describe, I’ve been laughing most of the afternoon. Not mad at all. Sounds like your house has been the place that has been unbearable, from the tone of your comments.
This exercise has definitely proved the old adage, “Never wrestle with a pig. It will only frustrate the pig and annoy you.” Except, on second thought, I haven’t been annoyed. It has been rather informative seeing you spout all the platitudes and talking points. OK. Time for you to go get another glass of Kool-Aid.
The fact is this wasn’t a witch hunt– Rush got off easy, and the post author’s contention that this was a witch hunt is as hypocritical as Limbaugh’s anti-drug stand. Repeated attempts to get Kim to explain her “witch hunt” claim have gone unanswered.
No suprise — apparently, judging from the comments made by Rush supporters at Wizbang!, the morally-bankrupt travel in packs.
Don’t sweat it. Some noted liberal savant will step up and make a fool of him or herself presently, and then you can get some payback.
Al Frankin has done that repeatedly.
From Lee:
Limbaugh has stated publicly that he hasn’t commented on drugs on the show since ’95. That’s the latest reference that I’ve seen on any post this weekend. An AP reporter referenced it yesterday in an article. He states that this was before he got hooked.
As far as the “witch hunt” that you seem to be fixated on, you would be up in arms if an open ended warrant were issued for a prosecutor to go on a fishing expedition through medical records, or even a house or car if it were you or anyone else. But if it’s “Fat boy” as you refer, or LimBARF as mak44 constantly does, or maybe if it was ‘BusHitler’ or Cheney or Hannity or another prominent conservative, it’s OK. Violations of the law are OK if they are against these “lawbreakers”, as many of your political persuasion see it.
Ah, Cloninger
So now your’re into MahaRushee’s Guns of April!!!!!
And to wave_man
To quote some hate-spewing pig from somewhere, I’ve been having more fun than a human being ought to be allowed to have.
You got my having the glass of Kool Aid just a bit backwards. From your writings, I would imagine you could again flood the Gulf Coast with processed Kool Aid when you finally have to piss.
Between your “yurins” & that thar’s” (lol) I imagine hawg wrestling is far more common in ur neck of the woods.
My point simply is, that when someone spends a 3 hours/day hate listening, followed by another 3 hours/day of getting Insanitized, one’s ability to think for himself is hopelessly skewed. Not much room for original thought in an environment like that.
While you yourself may not spend quite that much time engaged in 1984 hate periods, the fact that you spend some time there is clearly reflected in the way you think.
BTW–Orwell fucked up & named his book 20 years too early.
On a more personal level, my name is Michael. I offer that, in that your last post gave a tink of a hint of being a little more personal than previously. It almost seemed that you might still be human. lol
mak44, no, that’s hu-mon. I left the ranks of human long ago. LOL
Enjoyed the afternoon, Michael. Some time it’s good to work those brain cells. They need the exercise. Now it’s time to turn them to some other activity. This keyboard is like a drug, you know. Drawn to the monitor like a moth to a flame. Geez, I’ve got stuff to do. TTYL, maybe sooner.
These stories are not over by a long shot until the fat lady or Abramoff , Liddy, Lay, Rove…are finished singing or denying.
Just keep telling yourself this. It’s probably the only way to keep your head from exploding with mindless, impotent rage. So far you guys are batting like, near zero, so hope is all you have to live on.
And holy pete, those links were worthless. Two of them to the home page of a lefty moonbat site? C’mon, you can do better than that.
BTW, Michael, 1984 is on the reading list in the near future. Haven’t read it since High School, and I’m 3 days younger than dirt. Right now I’m finishing up on my reread of Atlas Shrugged. And it’s Joel.
TTYL
Ahhh LEE what “Crimes” praytell are you refering to repeatedly ? the only thing that You alledge is “doctor shopping”singular. oooh just the words quiver with the smack of illegality! doctor shopping? to hell with you or anybody else if their going to tell Me what doctor i can or cant go to ? or how many either! if i want something to take away the pain , its none of your F-ing business! so f-off and go to hell f-stain.
wave_man
Joel-good to meet you.
C’mon man, Atlas Shrugged?????? You’ll never learn to think when you read shit like that. That’s like doing the prequel to Rush & Insanity.
BTW- believe it or not, I was once foolish enough to have been a Goldwaterite in ’64, just like my mentor Hillary. lol Back in those centuries, if a conservative fucked up the world, it still had toime to recover.
I even lobbied my Goldwater campaign work to get an appointment from my State Sen. as a page in the Ohio Senate and parlayed that into Senate Jopurnal Clerk.
As Viet Nam slowly worked its wonders I began to wise up & soon was playing a ledt-wing LimBarf to younger wet-behind-the-ears pages. Caused a bit of controversy, biting my patron in the back.
TTYL-send Rush a get-outta-jail soon card; he might be feelin’ a bit wounded, but then, he’d never admit it.
The man who waves said:
“As far as the “witch hunt” that you seem to be fixated on, you would be up in arms if an open ended warrant were issued for a prosecutor to go on a fishing expedition through medical records, or even a house or car if it were you or anyone else. Is it your contention that open-ended warrants are not issued routinely? Is it Rush’s contention? Were that the case, wouldn’t Rush be anxious to prove he was unfairly prosecuted? Wouldn’t he be reluctant to pay $30,000 investigation costs? Wouldn’t he want to prove his innocence?
Of course he would.
He hasn’t.
As to your persecution complex – get a grip. Rush got off easy; easier than he should have imho.
CurlyLarryMoe – your ignorance as to what “Doctor shopping” means is embarassing. Come back after you learn what it means, and we can discuss it.
I’ve tangled with many oxycodone freaks, and its a tough addiction to treat. Denial and subterfuge are common traits that are difficult to deal with. I am not against appropriate consequences for these devious actions.
Now whether that’s the case here will be hard to tell = Rush could have as easily copped a plea and paid the 30k to avoid the nuisance of defending himself at trial as he could have agreed to an appropriate punishment. It doesn’t matter to me. He’s got the spotlight on him, is at least on the face of it committed to rehab and the whole world is watching. It is hoped the DA offers the same resources to thwart all the oxy addicts in his jurisdiction. I’m sure most doctors and pharmacists would be overjoyed.
All this vicious diatribe has nothing to do with RL but everything to do with adolescent hormone storm and immature baiting – blog space is cheap but its still a sad thing to waste.
LEE
I know what it means.its a loophole for politically motivated DA,S to go after and persecute political opponents, whom they cannot beat in a fair election or in the arena of ideas..”
Lee,
I don’t wave, I make waves for a living. Thus, it’s “the man who makes waves” 8-}
These are excerpts from a summary of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of
1996 (HIPAA) [the law that currently covers medical privacy]:
Note the last sentence. I’m no authority on HIPPA, but I saw how protective the medical records department of a hospital that I did a few weeks IT work for under contract [I’m not a doctor but I play one on TV ;-}]. If I understand the last paragraph correctly, No DA or court has the authority to dig through your or anyone else’s records without the authorization of the individual being investigated. That’s where I conclude that it was a ‘witch hunt’ with an open ended warrant. It was a violation of Federal Law.
Perhaps there is someone more versed on HIPPA than you and I that can shed some light on this.
The laughable, semi-literate Trinity, LarryCurlyMoe who slobbers:
“if i want something to take away the pain , its none of your F-ing business! so f-off and go to hell f-stain.”
My, my, you multipersonmaniac, or are you the triple-headed hydra w/ each head sharing a 1/3 of a brain?
Your hypocrisy precedes you as I am sure you don’t share your above view when it comes to medical marijuana and those who would like the benefit from it.
But then, hyprocrisy is your standard & w/ 3 of you, that goes triply so. Do each of your hydra heads have at least 1 neuron apiece or have they withered w/ 6 hours/day of incessant propagandizing and Insanitizing?
Mak
You nonsensesical neanderthal! i view medical marijuana the same way, if I was using it because I was in a lot of pain,it,s no ones business but mine period. i have always felt this way and You clearly have no idea when it comes to your wiled accusations.
Joel
Don’t you think that a man as proud as our PM (propaganda Meister) would flat out refuse to settle if what your read on HIPPA is accurate? And what kind of a high-powered attorney is Black to let that one slip by? Amazing that the MahaRushee is not suing for malpractice. Common sense would indicate that there may be a clinker here-else the PM would not needlessly give his enemies a sword along w/ a 30K payoff & 18 months of humiliating piss-checks when he had otherwise been so ignobly violated. Wouldn’t the Proud Limbarf show his sycophants the light rather than caving? Tsk Tsk Besides the world’s biggest hypocrite, he appears to be the world’s biggest coward. No path of light for those Pavlovian slaverers to follow.
PS I’m trying to be a tad more gentle-hope you can see it.
BTW skip the conclusion of Atlas Shrugged. It’s way too l;ong for the point it’s attempting to make. And anyhow, you’ve already been vaccinated too much as it is for your own good. Get on to 1984 as you mentioned & try out some new thought. But be sure to keep your reading of it on the QT lest you disillusion your close circle of puppy-mayes. lol
BTW Joel-you are right on ` thing-this is so addicting esp when a click of “refresh” & you’re back in the milieu.
Speaking of addicting, it almost makes me empathize with the Grand Master of Bamboozlement except that I hate him so much for what he has done to the minds of people like you. lol
Hey LCM you triple-headed hydra
you”re slobbering on the boards again as you write:
“You clearly have no idea when it comes to your wiled accusations…”
I am curious: did you mean that as in “wiled animals” or as in “wiley” w/ a typo? You repetively type faster than you think, but then that could still be just hunt & peck typing, based on the lack of evidence that you do indeed think rather than bluster & rant.
LCM as in the triple headed trinity LarryCurlyMoe
You’ve chosen a trio of morons for your “user” so why get upset when your limitations are referenced.
Or, perhaps, given your utter inability to think, did you think they wer 3 Nobel Laureates? I’ll bet you did.
I am doing nothing on this thread other than practicing your hero-leader’s methods: make a mockery of everything and then exploit it. It ought to be familiar because you listen to it all the time w/ LimBARF & Insanity.
The moral of the story: when the Phoe shits, wear it.
Michael,
You’ve got it wrong, Limbaugh didn’t make me this way. I was real interested in politics in elementary school starting in the 5th grade. Almost voted for Carter in ’76 in my first election, got caught up in the smile [notice I said almost, saw the light about a week before the election]. My Dad used to ride me about my political bent- he was a southern Democrat- but he told me about 15 years ago that I had been right all along. He’s more conservative than I am, I lean libertarian, but I disagree with the direction of the Libertarian party, so I work in a different direction.
You said
Doesn’t surprise me at all. Major corporations settle lawsuits all the time without admitting guilt, and many times they are not. It’s cheaper and better publicity to just settle. And Limbaugh is a major corporation, in essence.
Think about it, the blogsphere and the antique media will be abuzz with this for this weekend, and the news shows tomorrow will address the issue. Just look at the attention that this thread has on just this blog. But in a few days, the media and the politicos will move on to the next big thing. Besides, gas prices are going to steal the spotlight again sooner rather than later. A trial drags on for months, even years. In 18 months, baring further developments or a violation of the agreement, it will all be over, with the county pocketing $30g and Limbaugh with a dismissed case and a ‘Not Guilty’ plea. Using the same reasoning that you used, if the DA did violate the HIPPA regs, he’s more than happy to agree to this settlement. $30g is a pittance for Limbaugh, cheaper than legal fees for a trial.
RE: Atlas Shrugged, too late, I started last weekend and I’m on the next to last chapter. I’m amazed that I started to read it again as it came into the news about the movie rights being sold yesterday.
Joel– in some ways I am like you, but in reverse. I grew up as a would-be John Bircher in a family, where the careless mention of FDR by name would bring an onset of ranting by my father for the better part of an everning. I was indoctrinated until I encountered a history prof who forced me to think and a left-leaning landlady/university professor in her 60’s & in the forefront of campus politics.
She said one night as we argued endlessly, “If you’re so damned conservative now at your age, what the hell are you going to be like when you reach my age?”
There wasn’t much room left to move except fascism, given the state of my political philosophy at that time.
I have a pretty good idea of how the thinking goes on both sides because I started out about as far right as one can be w/o brandishing a swastika or wearing an Iron Cross and I am ashamed to admit that, at the time of Kennedy’s assassination, I thought the country was better off for having been saved from Communism. It’s hard to start out much lower than that. It’s been a long way outta a hole like that but I made it years ago.
’68 was my 1st election & I was so pissed about Viet Nam by then that I was going to vote for Nixon out of protest… that is, until I thought about the Supreme Court implications of that kind of foolishness and I changed my mind. The Court has been on a slow descent ever since Nixon’s appointments until it is now nothing but a reflection of the darker side of humanity, for the most part.
BTW The history of the Supreme Court reflects, that over time & as small-mindedness & the iron death grip of conservatism has been breached, it has been a powerful force for change when no other part of our government would move, Unfortunately the times in between those flashes of brilliance have too often lasted longer than a lifetime and many of our forebears have suffered greviously for the glacial pace. This present court is a glacier across the path of human advancement for the next 30-40 years & this nation and this world cannot sit by & twiddle their thumbs til a mid-century wakeup call at last occurs. By then it will be too late.
Apologies to others for the diversion.
Ah, Cloninger
So now your’re into MahaRushee’s Guns of April!!!
Never heard of it, sorry.
Consider that Rush just donated $250K to a favorite charity of his, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
$30K is chump change for him … and proves nothing about guilt or innocence.
And, which is worse … a conservative talk-show host getting caught in “hypocricy”, or a major political party who implicitly endorses the following as a platform:
We’ll guarantee your right to …
… get stoned …
… get your jollies …
… get a free Band-aid …
… get a check …
… and “get by” …
… by taking your right to get ahead, as we ignore your right to live
There is a big difference between feeding an addiction to pain medication that was created after serious surgery, and giving the ol’ wink-and-nod to recreational drug use, even just by commenting on “inhalation”.
And, as for medical marajuana … prove that it is safe and effective to the FDA, just like any other drug … and you can also denounce the abuse of that “medicine” for recreational purposes, while you’re at it — for if more people agree with you, it may make it easier to get the research done to prove (or disprove) the usefulness of medical marajuana.
BTW, all Rush did for me was to reinformce what I had already observed and discerned … which was refreshing when you have been immersed in the MSM information sea, and selectively spoon-fed only those parts of the truth that line up with the Utopian/hedonistic worldview they consider “enlightened”, but is instead lacking in even simple wisdom.
Professing to be wise, they proved to be fools — and many still are. OTOH …
… we won’t be fooled again.
Hmmmm.
@ mak44
sigh.
You are a complete idiot you know that right?
Why did Rush agree to pay $30k? Because that gives the prosecutor some way to keep his ass covered and it would amount to far less than what Rush is currently paying Black per week.
Dumbass.
A whole fucking page of idiot comments without one single redeeming element. And all by you mak44.
You realise that people mostly just ignore you right?
… it has been a powerful force for change when no other part of our government would move,
Ignoring Dred Scott for a moment …
Leftist Translation 1: it is quite all right for 9 people to override the Constitutional separation-of-powers and legislate from the bench, if it furthers the Leftist agenda.
Leftist Translation 2: President Bush was truly elected, not selected … and these 9 justices were simply assuring the integrity of the election process, by preventing ex post facto alterations of the election laws by the Florida courts. Please accept our apologies for dragging this nation through a month of indecision … and for undermining this duly-elected President for the last five-plus years.
Seems pretty simple really. Rush needs to square what he’s been saying with what he’s been doing.
Kind of like quite a few Democrat’s votes and their statements regarding the War on Terror.
It’s not what you say, it’s what you do…
Yoo-hoo, wave_man:
Limbaugh has stated publicly that he hasn’t commented on drugs on the show since ’95.
Find out when he said this: “The FDA says there’s no — zilch, zero, nada — shred of medicinal value to the evil weed marijuana. This is going to be a setback to the long-haired, maggot-infested, dope-smoking crowd.”
When did the FDA say this? Days ago, Apr. 21. Are you really that dumb?
astigfa,
I just said that he had not commented since ’95. I guess I should have prefaced that with before his addiction came up. No, I didn’t hear his comment on the FDA story. I don’t listen all the time. But it is a comment on the FDA announcement, and on an illegal substance, not on abuse and addiction, caused by a medical problem, to a highly addictive legal substance. I guess he has no right to say anything, on any subject, in your opinion.
Before you start accusing me of agreeing with the comment, I don’t. I think the FDA is full of it on this subject. And no, I don’t smoke it, even though I have glaucoma. Never had to dodge that I didn’t inhale and I didn’t enjoy it, because I have never tried it, even though I have friends that have, and use it now.
The war on drugs is big business. Monies could be better spent on treatment than enforcement and incarceration, IMHO. But there’s a lot of difference between abuse of clearly illegal substances and becoming addicted to a substance legally prescribed in good faith.
BenJCarter said,
I agree, but, outside of the comment pointed out to dumb me by astiafa, I don’t think you will find much in his commentary regarding abuse of legal prescriptions. But, after all, it’s LimBARF, he doesn’t even have the right to breathe, in their opinion.
Add him to the list.
Another “law and order” guy who wants to “lock ’em all up and throw away the key”, just found an exception. Himself.
Hippo-crite!!!
They should sieze this Eastern elite’s NYC Penthouse.
So wave-man,
Rush says he hasn’t made a comment about drugs on his show since 1995.
And you believe him.
