Nine months and two days later, Mr. Cheney’s first daughter, Elizabeth, was born”_______Hey, the Veep mentioned “I” and “fight…war” in the same sentence! That’ll learn ’em! Starboard Attitude March 25, 2006 So tell me where YOU served, bryanD! Darleen March 25, 2006 Starboard Note that bryan isn’t disagreeing with the VP. yo March 25, 2006 Dick’s ona’ roll ,tonight: “Cheney himself said that when he returned to the White House from the hunting trip, Bush told him, ‘Dick, I’m 38 percent in the polls and you shot the only trial lawyer who supports me.'” All of a sudden, the administration’s taken the offensive. This oughta’ be a fun lil’ ride. bryanD March 25, 2006 Starboard Attitude: USMC 1979-1982: MCRD, San Diego,CA; ITS: Camp Pendleton, CA; Marine Barracks, Keflavik, Iceland; C Co. 1/7,Camp Pendleton, CA; Camp Hanson, Okinawa; Pohang, S. Out loud. ed March 26, 2006 Hmmm. Starboard Attitude: USMC 1979-1982: MCRD I got you beat hands down. USMC: 1982-1984: Parris Island -> Camp Lejeune -> New Jersey. New Jersey!! Crappiest duty station in the USMC. The only one I knew of that was a minimum 6 year station that also required you to stay an additional 4 years if you re-upped and where you couldn’t transfer out unless someone could replace you. I.e. Hell on Earth. tas March 26, 2006 I never thought I’d say this, but if that’s what the veep calls an attempt at comedy, then maybe he shouldn’t quit his day job. As much as I, personally, would like him to. Fran March 26, 2006 Dick Please refrain from any further comments regarding any other person’s competence to fight the war in Iraq. Your own house seems to be having a serious competency problem in Iraq. And don’t forget, your mistakes or miscalculations cost lives. virgo March 26, 2006 I believe He was referring to the Democrats in the House ,Senate ,in D.C. Not the honorable ones around the country . Veeshir March 26, 2006 He was referring to the ones saying “Dangerously Incompetent”. You know, like the nitwit who appeared on C-Span with the Dangerously Incompetent sign next to her? The one that has generated a picture that her opponents will use against her in every campaign she ever runs? I love Cheney. He can say the funniest, most rude things in the world that cut right to the heart of the matter and highlight it in stark detail. Thanks to him and Rumsfeld, I had a bunch of good belly laughs last week. I would say the Maureen Dowd comment was pretty good, but he left a bunch of jokes on the table with that one. maggie March 27, 2006 What You Need To Believe To Be A Republican Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush’s daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a “we can’t find Bin Laden” diversion. Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony. The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq. A woman can’t be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation. The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans’ benefits and combat pay. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won’t have sex. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart. Global warming and tobacco’s link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet. The public has a right to know about Hillary’s cattle trades but George Bush’s driving record is none of our business. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you’re a conservative radio host. Then it’s an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery. Supporting “Executive Privilege” for every Republican ever born, who will be born or who might be born (in perpetuity.) What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the ’80s is irrelevant. Support for hunters who shoot their friends and blame them for wearing orange vests similar to those worn by the quail. Friends don’t let friends vote Republican. Alex March 27, 2006 Sorry Maggie but after spending 12yrs in Viet Nam I learn very quickly to spot BS. It’s just too bad that most Democrats are full of BS. I’m not saying that Republicans are perfect but at least they are “more” honest than most Democrats. IsHeKidding!? June 2, 2006 “If they are competent to fight this war, then I ought to be singing on American Idol.” Now that’s funny!!! After seeing who won the American Idol title, then maybe good ole Dicky boy could give it a whirl too!! And then, Yeah, maybe the dems are competent as well (if not more)to fight the war.
