This week’s Milblog is Fast Bunnies, an Army MP from Washington currently serving in Iraq.
MP sounds like a hell of a guy. He is responsible for helping fresh 2nd Lieutenants learn how to be good officers, and he has some sound advice for them that ought to extend to any sort of managerial position. He’s learned how to rejoice in the simpler pleasures in life, and has a highly-insightful (meaning, I agree with him) perspective on the Hamas electoral victory.
And he finds a way to properly explain the Army’s fundamental nature to us civilians with an example that can only come out of the sheer exasperated love only an insider can express.
My only quibble is that he tends to use a bit too much inside jargon for civilians to properly appreciate (I ‘m not sure what a TOC badge or a Gator is, but I suspect the badge is some form of ID, and a Gator is a vehicle), but MP says up front that his blog isn’t for everyone:
This site is published in order for me to keep in touch with friends and family. That is its only purpose.
(Emphasis in the original)
So go on over, take a look around, and say a few kind words. MP sounds just like the kind of American that ought to be representing us abroad.
