- As for my own plans, I do not intend to ‘pursue other interests’ or even ‘spend more time with my family,’ wonderful as it is. I am going to remain fully engaged in the media business.
CBS News President Andrew Heyward, from his announcement that he would be quiting by the end of the year. Heyward is best remembered for his Titanic-like captaining of CBS’s response to the Rathergate story. It does make you wonder about whether this is a “voluntary” retirement…
Let me get this straight, he’s going to remain fully engaged in the media business but retire from it? Unless NBC, ABC, or Fox picks him up, what does he plan to do to remain fully engaged, blog? That’ll be rich.
Works if his family is Mary Mapes and Dan Rather! I guess one has to feel sorry for his real family.
“I am going to remain fully engaged in the media business.”
Read: “I’m going to become a shameless speaker and figurehead on behalf of the left. See you on Air America, everybody!”
“I do not intend….to ‘spend more time with my family'”
Newsflash: After a statement like that, they probably don’t want you there either, Andrew.
Andrewheyward.com is taken…
Oh boy. Just what the world needs. Another disgraced MSM-er named Andrew who hates Bush with too much free time and a webblog to fill it with.
“I am going to remain fully engaged in the media business.”
Translation: I’m going to watch CNN a lot and every time they show Bush, I am going to throw one of my empty beer cans at the screen.
… Titanic-like captaining of CBS’s response …
Good line.
