   as a spy for Israel.

   Ledeen and Dewey Clarridge, a noted CIA adventurer back in his agency days, may
   have concocted the Niger uranium documentation which was then foisted on SISMI,
   the hapless Keystone Kop Italian intelligence agency which, presto! Change-o!,
   passed it to the British and American intelligence agencies as more proof of
   Saddam’s evil ways. Each for their own reasons judged the forged documents
   genuine. Indeed, long after the CIA judged the papers phoney, the Brits
   continued to insist they were valid.
