191,000 absentee ballots won’t be counted until tomorrow (Current results). The state appears to be headed toward Bush, but we may not know for 48 hours.

That sucks. How were they able to call the governor race for that schmuck Richardson if they haven’t counted absentee ballots yet?
If a candidate leads in the vote by more than the totla number of outstanding ballots, they don’t bother counting them for that candidate.
I haven’t slept for a long time, so my math may be blooey. But if A is leading with 500,000 votes and B is second with 450,000 votes, and if you have 100,000 to be counted in outstanding ballots, couldn’t that make a difference? Especially if the outstanding votes were from the Armed Services overseas which has been reported to be 75% or so in favor of one side?
500,000 + 25,000 = 525,000
450,000 + 75,000 = 525,000
