Shown blogging the words, “CONSISTENCY, PERSISTENCY, CHARACTER…GEORGE W. BUSH” on Scott Sala’s laptop. Then he announced that he was supporting the reelection of President Bush, something he has not to this point done.

It’s apparent that you’re not very familiar with military strategy or tactics, the actual tactics employed in Afghanistan and Iraq, or the military’s relationship with the Executive Branch of our government, FPN.

Gimme a break Boyd. Our President said he’d do whatever it takes to track down the “evil doers”, just after 9/11. When he had the chance, he dropped the ball, and had NO strategy. In Iraq, the intial strategy was great(however, Gen. Shinsek’s advice shouldn’t have been ignored), but the plans to handle the peace are awful. As the Soviets learned in Afghanistan, if you do not control the borders you do not control the war. In addition, since we disbanded the army, we have created tens(100s) of thousands of citizen soldiers, on top of the terrorists/jihadist types. Great.

My question to all of you armchair generals is simple. How many of you have served our country in uniform??

Name me one high level commander that didn’t at some point in their career of service. Bottom line here is that Ret. General Tommy Franks is a true leader of soldiers and one that should be praised for his tactics and minimal loss of life during the onset of the liberation.
Not to minimize the loss of life to date, quite the contrary. I grieve for those who have lost sons, daughters, husbands, wives or parents. In our effort to free a country such as Iraq. It could have been far worse. These military personnel knew the possibility existed when they enlisted and I bet not one of them would take it back.
With that said and before the question gets asked, yes…I did serve in the military and when I took the oath it wasn’t to further my education or to add to my existing income. It was for my country.
He also took the opportunity to announce plans for an offensive against Klendathu, source of the bug meteor that destroyed Buenos Aires:

After nearly four decades of Military Service it is astounding to me that critics would seem to ask “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR US LATELY?” This guy gave plenty, and saw to it that it was done right. Thanks to Tommy Franks for his dedicated service to my country.

On the contrary, just yesterday the administration is pushing through a reduction from 3.5% to 2% for a pay increase. Some interviews with the troops show they are quite upset about this. And since 2000, pay increases have definitely NOT increased by 20%, so what is Franks talking about? Fransks also claimned that Bush has increased veteran benefits during his term in office, but recent press coverage about such benefits clearly show Bush has consistently pushed for lowering benefits. Why would a General misrepresent the truth about troops like this?

Yup. And Lord knows the press would never misrepresent the truth.
