The War on Terror might be important to you and me but Democratic Candidate John Kerry, just hasn’t had time to worry his little head over it.
CNN’s Larry King Live
LARRY KING: News of the day, Tom Ridge warned today about al Qaeda plans of a large-scale attack on the United States. Didn’t increase the — you see any politics in this? What’s your reaction?
JOHN KERRY: Well, I haven’t been briefed yet, Larry. They have offered to brief me. I just haven’t had time.
Kerry’s sole talking point is that Bush has mismanaged the war on terror and that as a Vietnam Vet, he could do better. If it is so important that he be elected to run the war, shouldn’t he at least go to the briefings?
I guess no foreign leaders were going to be there.

What this really shows again(!) is what a horrible campaigner Kerry is. Who says things like this during a campaign? He broke a cardinal rule of candidates… NEVER VOLUNTEER INFORMATION.
Larry King did not ask him why he had not gone. Volunteering an excuse is asinine. Nobody running for dog catcher makes this mistake.
He made the same mistake when he said life began at conception but he did not learn his lesson then. The Dems truly picked a horrible campaigner.
Fedora tip to Drudge
UPDATE: I seem to have ruffled a few feathers among some liberals because I did not include this part of the the interview.
KING: When do you — …
KERRY: (interrupts, off topic)
KING: When do you — when do you get your briefing?
KERRY: We’re arranging it. It’s at the end of the week I’ll get it.
KING: Should be pretty soon.
KERRY: I think it’s tomorrow or the next day.
KING: And as for the vice president, he gets one, as well, right?
Yes gentlemen, you have proven beyond a doubt that Kerry is a moron and Larry King is a hopeless sycophant. Congratulations.
King heard what Kerry said and tried 3 times to get him out the whole he dug. If that had been a Republican, King would have asked why he had not received the briefing.
So again, you guys are right, Kerry is a piss poor campaigner and King tried to save Kerry from himself.
Now- Don’t you just feel better about the whole event?
Yeah, how dare he tell the truth. How’s he supposed to go to a briefing before it’s happened?
Further down, of course:
KING: When do you — when do you get your briefing?
KERRY: We’re arranging it. It’s at the end of the week I’ll get it.
KING: Should be pretty soon.
KERRY: I think it’s tomorrow or the next day.
lol good grief.
So glad to see Sludge driving the so-called intelligent commentary. If the briefing Kerry’s been offered is anything like the useless time waster the public got yesterday then there’s no need to hurry, it’s old news.
P:
Thanks for coming by. I still dont agree with you. He said that they were arranging the briefing for today or tommorow. A whopping two-three days after the senate got thiers, I really dont see this to be the bombshell that you guys are trying to make it out to be. If it is, how should we look at Bush being on Vacation in Crawford while 9/11 was being hatched, despite the August 6th PBD?
KING: And as for the vice president, he gets one, as well, right?
Umm … Edwards ain’t the Veep yet, is he? 😉
Ease up on Larry.. He’s “Mr. Softball” with EVERYBODY. I was impressed that he asked that question and follwed up in the first place…
Keep hitting Kerry however… If you screw up a Larry King interview… You’ve screwed up big.
Did ya see me use the word bombshell anywhere?
If you noticed, I more commented on the fact he was a horrible campaigner. A fact you keep ignoring as if that will make it go away.
it doesn’t matter if kerry is a piss-poor campaigner and bush smoked himself retarded.
the point is, the only candidates who are going to RUN *OUR* COUNTRY are fuckups. kinda makes you feel all warm inside, huh? Personally, i think if people don’t get involved with what happens in our government, they don’t have the right to complain about the direction our country is taking. out of all the people who are qualified to run for president, why do only the worst possible choices get to run?
i believe that people need to stop seeing the democratic and republican parties as liberal and conservative instead of the values the parties truely stand for.
personally, i don’t think it’s right that we elect people to represent our voice, and we have practically no voice at all.
