Damn, McGeHee, you beat me to it… but to me, it’s SOMETHING when someone does the right thing, even if it’s for the wrong reasons. Actions speak louder than words. But I respect both your opinion and your superior timing.
I am of the opinion that Kerry, unlike Ryan, is far too politically astute to have let a time bomb sit unopened in his divorce files all these years, waiting for it to be opened when he ran for president. Anybody in the public eye like Kerry has to know that bad stuff will come out eventually. If he did have bad stuff in that divorce he would have addressed it long ago to preempt attacks now. They may just let the Tribune go for it, then when nothing of substance is revealed, Kerry can play the honest martyr. (Cynical, I know.)

Not really caring much what went on in the Kerry household regarding a nasty divorce. Shouldn’t care….
There are more important issues at hand that govern his inability to run this country effectively.
We have become far too comfortable dealing in trash that exposes the lack of moral fibre. We need to get back to the basic questions that need to be asked with respect to the ability to lead. Whether he failed in his marriage or not is of no consequence to me. We have all failed in one realtionship or another. The difference should be if we learned from thje failure or not.
I don’t defend Karry…OMG…NOT ME AT ALL…
I will say this though…whether he failed in marriage or not, he is still not now nor will he ever be leader of the free world material.
Kerry does not speak for me in or out of the bedroom.

SD I gotta disagree. And I’ll give you 3 pieces of evidence.
Bill Clinton, Bill Clinton and of course Bill Clinton.
For more politically astute than Kerry could ever hope to be and he did everything you said someone would not. EGO
I should note that I don’t think that anybody’s sealed divorce records should be opened, but if we are going to do it to Republicans, then Democrats should suffer, too.
SD – politely disagreeing. I think that if we are going to be doing it to Republicans then Democrats should be beaten with sticks, tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail.
But leave the divorce records sealed. Let’s get the camel’s nose out of the tent 🙂
If Kerry were so politically astute he would have staked out coherent political positions and stuck with ’em, instead of that “nuance” crap like “I voted for it before I voted against it.”
If he were so politically astute he would have answered straight up about the medals and pointed out that anybody who didn’t do something stupid and regrettable at that age probably isn’t worth half a bucket of warm spit.
To be honest, I think if he were politically astute he wouldn’t be running for President.

Paul,
Good point.
