According to MSNBC’s run of a Reuters report, the Deputy Prime Minister/Interior Minister Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah climed it was actually *”archaeological artefacts and ‘other items’ “* that were being smuggled, which would make sense of the haul being enumerated in monetary terms. He’s apparently being quoted by the same source (al-Seyassah) as the original story. Dunno what the “other items” are though…
