After we learned that Ted Stevens perished in a plane crash in Alaska, two New Hampshire Democrats contemplated the idea of Sarah Palin being on the plane. Keith David Halloran, a Democratic candidate for the NH statehouse, started the discussion when he wrote on his Facebook page, "Just wish Sarah and Levy [sic] were on board."
Current New Hampshire state representative Timothy Horrigan followed up with his musings on Palin's theoretical death:
"Well a dead Palin wd be even more dangerous than a live one...she is all about her myth & if she was dead she cldn't commit any more gaffes"
Both men were roundly denounced, forcing Halloran to publicly apologize and Horrigan to resign his seat.
It's pretty amazing that some Facebook and Twitter users will post the first thought that pops into their minds, without any consideration for how that uncensored thought will make them appear online to people who don't know them. It could be they think they're among "friends" so they feel they can let their guard down. Clearly this is not the case when it comes to the internet. But these instant, uncensored reactions and thoughts turn these social media applications into quasi cyber Rorschach tests in that that they provide us a glimpse into the deep recesses of people's minds. In the case of these men, those deep recesses aren't very pleasant.

Twitter attracts a lot of twits, surprisingly enough. Perhaps its designers noticed this early on when they invented the "tweet" to describe the post sent by Twitter. But shouldn't they be "Tweeter" if that's the case?
They just didn't want to take the risk that some users would take offense if they called it a "twit" instead. A very small risk, in my estimation.

For the record, Halloran is a Masshole who moved north a few years ago, and was not a New Hampshire native.
And I never voted for -- or even heard of -- this guy.

It's always amazing to me how the left always accuses the right of being hateful, yet seem to exemplify the hateful behavior they condemn.
Why, it's almost like it's projection or something...

Before I opened the comments, I figured Halloran had to be a former Masshole.
Thanks for pointing that out Jay.

Funny how when you live next to a cesspool there's overflow...
Twitter was made for the mindless who just *have* to share their thoughts with everyone else. Maybe I'm old school but I really don't give a damn what anyone else has on their mind when they aren't within arms length and talking to me.

I'm just surprised that these whack jobs actually resigned/apologized!!! As shamelessness is one of the absolute requirements for being a leftist, I would have thought they would REPEAT their desires rather than feign regret.
