ABC's Jake Tapper is reporting that everyone's least favorite party jumper, Arlen Specter, is looking for a handout now that the Pennsylvania Democratic electorate have rejected him as handily as Republican voters were planning on doing.
Sources tell ABC News that Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pennsylvania, has informed the White House that he would like to consider remaining in public service after his Senate term ends at the end of this session, and White House officials are keeping an open mind about possible job openings for him.Specter, who was defeated in his March primary by Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pennsylvania, is a close friend of Vice President Joe Biden and someone praised for his leadership in pushing for greater funding for the National Institutes of Health
...Some who know Specter say he's eager to go out with a bang -- to have a more majestic career-ender -- and not to be known in perpetuity as a party switcher, an inquisitor of Anita Hill, or as a leading advocate on the Warren Commission of the single-bullet theory.
He already got the career-ender he deserved - rejected by voters in both parties...

Maybe Specter should run against one of Obama's Capitol Hill cronies. It seems that's the way to get job offers from the Obama administration.

In consideration of Specter's long career, I think Obama should extend him the honor of being the first case before his Death Panel.

He's an attention whore that is enthralled by the power he has. I suspect that in a bit over two years he's going to be sent packing, a bitter husk denied the trappings of power by the very peons he so often sneered at.
Couldn't have happened to a bigger asshole and seeing him gone from the public trough will be icing on the cake.

This is Specter's way of telling the electorate, "So, you don't want me representing you? I'll bypass all that and get appointed to foist whatever I can on you without your vote."

Poor Arlen. Sold his soul, now finds that since he can't "DO" anything further for Obama, Obama will have nothing to "DO" with or for him.
Arlen has to be the dumbest thing on two feet. Barry didn't come out on the campaign trail for dear Arlen. Now Arlen expects Barry to provide him with a job? Maybe Arlen should just have "FOOL" tattooed on his forehead and leave quietly by the back door.
