This had to be my favorite performance of the night, what was yours?
Tuesday night my daughter said "We are seeing the end of American Idol as we know it." I agree. It just won't be Idol without Simon. My daughter also spent the first part of the finale show asking where the "pants on the ground man" was. After he performed she said, "I liked the original version of the song better." I have a feeling that is what a lot of people will be saying about the next season of Idol.

Cowell was really the only ... (Below threshold)1. Posted by hermie | May 27, 2010 6:07 AM | Score: 3 (3 votes cast)
Cowell was really the only truly honest judge on the panels. He knows the brutality of the business and what it takes to get to the top. His comments, while rough, were pale compared to the attacks that industry honchos and the critics in the industry would hurl at a young singer. Only a replacement of equal honesty and frankness will allow 'Idol' to last more than one more season.

I liked the song with Crystal, Lee and Joe Cocker. How old is he now? He's got to be at least in his late 60's. I didn't see his arm swinging last night, though. I guess like Cowell leaving, things change and life goes on. I agree with you, it won't be for the better, but it is what it is.

American Idol jumped the Sanjaya a long time ago.

Idol without Simon is Star Search.

My favorite performance? The last one. It means the end of the Idol for at least 6 months, thankfully.

More proud than ever to say I have never seen a minute of that show. I heard an ex contestant on a talk show say they know who is going to win months in advance. What is the point? Plus who would buy that music?

Joe Cocker is always a favorite of mine. But, I also liked shock rocker Alice Cooper. His outrageous stage shows(which were inspired by the 1950's act, Screamin' Jay Hawkins) were an inspiration to my own band at one time.
What can I say? I'm an old rocker who likes the old rock.

Couldn't agree with you more Lori. As we say in Hawai`i, this was the "chicken skin" moment.
