Over at Pajamas Media, there is an analysis of more emails relating to climate science data. These emails come from NASA as opposed to the earlier leaked emails from the CRU. It should be noted that these emails were obtained legally so those that dismissed the CRU emails as "illegally acquired" have no such smokescreen to hide behind this time. Charles Martin writes:
Email messages obtained by the Competitive Enterprise Institute via a Freedom of Information Act request reveal that the climate dataset of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) was considered -- by the top climate scientists within NASA itself -- to be inferior to the data maintained by the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU).That these admissions went unreported should be of no surprise to anyone that has been paying attention. The NASA scientists also felt that NASA GISS data was inferior to the National Climate Data Center Global Historical Climate Network (NCDC GHCN) database.
These emails, obtained by Christopher Horner, also show that the NASA GISS dataset was not independent of CRU data.
Further, all of this information regarding the accuracy and independence of NASA GISS data was directly communicated to a reporter from USA Today in August 2007.
The reporter never published it.
This new data point could be quite significant. A common response to the revelations hidden in the CRU data was that it was just one data set; other independent data sets are available and all support a looming AGW crisis. Now it would seem that these "independent" data sources were in fact not so independent and of questionable quality. It is important to note that it was NASA scientists themselves that questioned the data. Martin concludes:
The NCDC GHCN dataset mentioned in the Ruedy email has also been called into question by Joe D'Aleo and Anthony Watts. D'Aleo and Watts showed in a January 2010 report that changes in available measurement sites and the selection criteria involved in "homogenizing" the GHCN climate data raised serious questions about the usefulness of that dataset as well.Follow the link above to read the full article, complete with links to the emails and other 3rd party analysis. These three datasets -- from NASA GISS, NCDC GHCN, and CRU -- are the basis of essentially all climate study supporting anthropogenic global warming.
What are the odds that the AP and CNN will assign reporters to investigate this new development?

Well Dan, I think I'll follow the CRU-model here. So, without doing any actual work first to explore the probability, but in accordance with my preconceived premise, I'm announcing that my peer-reviewed (the cat just sniffed at it) analysis shows actual probability at or approaching 0%, with the reliability of my analysis at/or approaching 100%.
Further, I'm calling for the establishment of a U.N panel to fund (or is that just fun) my further work in analazing this world-wide crisis. I'll need additional fun(ding) later to implement stopgap measures aimed at reducing the immediate impact on civilization. Finally, I'll need the authority to establish world-wide "value-added" taxation later if I am to be able to stop this crisis completely and return us to 1965 levels.
Gee, that was easy.

What was that old saying..... "Garbage in, garbage out".
Yeah, I'm not holding my breath waiting for the "BREAKING NEWS" from the MSM. But I am interested in how The Goracle will spin this.

If they could find a single email from Palin in there, they'd be all over it.

Hahah you conspiracy theorists are hilarious, what'll you misunderstand and take out of context next? Hopefully this also includes the word, "trick" so you can spin it to your liking. Feel free to reply as google news probably won't direct me here again.
