Another day, another mad Muslim.
Libya tyrant Colonel Gaddafi "Duck" has finally declared "Jihad" against Switzerland.

Col Gaddafi took a long-running and personal feud with the historically neutral European country to new heights with a speech in which he attacked the ban on new minarets on mosques approved by a Swiss referendum last year."Those who destroy God's mosques deserve to be attacked through jihad, and if Switzerland was on our borders, we would fight it," he said. "Jihad against Switzerland, against Zionism, against foreign aggression is not terrorism.
He called for a boycott of Switzerland by the Islamic world. "Any Muslim in any part of the world who works with Switzerland is an apostate, is against Mohammad, God and the Koran," he said.
"The masses of Muslims must go to all airports in the Islamic world and prevent any Swiss plane landing, to all harbours and prevent any Swiss ships docking, inspect all shops and markets to stop any Swiss goods being sold."
The ban on minarets had nothing to do with any religious differences between Muslims and the people of Switzerland. The intent of the ban was to preserve the character of Swiss architecture. A minaret has no religious significance regarding the practice of Islam. The Swiss did not ban the Islamic Star and Crescent. This represents nothing more than the enactment of a building code.
Frankly, I am shocked.
I wrote about the Swiss ban on minarets early last December when it was passed by referendum, fully expecting the "religion of peace" to declare the massacre of Swiss citizens to be in season.
That it took this long for one of these notable Muslim nuts to declare holy war over this shows remarkable restraint for a people who will behead you for, say, eating your peas the wrong way.
Guess they all realized if they acted a bit irrationally, many of their governments' Swiss bank accounts might be in jeopardy.
Gaddafi better mind his manners, though, 'cause he's gotten the EU and UN riled up.
Just listen to these searing admonishments from senior officials of the two world bodies:
"If these reports are correct, they come at an unfortunate moment," a spokesman for Baroness Ashton, the EU's foreign policy representative, said.
Ouch!
Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the director-general of the United Nations, said: "I believe that such declarations on the part of the head of state are inadmissible in international relations."
Whew. "An unfortunate moment"? "...inadmissable in international relations."?
One cannot help but feel the outrage just oozing from these two diplomats.
It's about time a government and its people had the guts to disregard the expected outrage of Muslims in defense of their own culture.
Even if it gets the "Duck's" feathers ruffled.
(As an aside, whoever took the picture should be given a Pulitzer for photography. What a friggin' mess of a human being.)

I wonder if he actually believes this crap or if he's just saying it for public consumption. "If Switzerland was on our borders, we would fight it," is pretty easy to say when Switzerland is very much not on the borders of Libya.

Khadafi was one of those secular, Marxist-Leninist type dictators in the mold of Nasser, Hussein, etc. for many years, until that kind of style became passe. All of a sudden he's an "Islamist." That's just to keep himself in power. 20 years ago he was rounding up fundamentalists and shooting them.
Every now and then Khadafi will say something outrageous to keep up his street cred. Gullible rubes will get all outraged about it. That's just what Khadafi intended.
What Khadafi says means ZERO outside of Libya. He's not a cleric and does not "speak for" Islam. Everybody (except Mr Mallow and his Amen Chorus) knows that.

Apparently Gaddafi is unaware that the Swiss are among the most-armed nations on earth and everyone does reserve military duty. The Swiss government even pays for ammunition at an annual shoot-out so that the citizens keep in training. Everyone who has served in the military is expected to keep and maintain the weapon he was issued. So don't mess with the Swiss. All those innocuous-looking bankers are NOT what they seem.

Declare war against the Swiss? These guys are really backward. Even in both World Wars, the Swiss were left out of it. How can you have a beef with them of the level where you would wage war against them?
Islam is at war against EVERYONE. Who the hell do they get along with? Not even each other!
