President Obama, in his State of the Union address:
That's what I came to Washington to do. That's why -- for the first time in history -- my administration posts on our White House visitors online. That's why we've excluded lobbyists from policymaking jobs, or seats on federal boards and commissions.
But we can't stop there. It's time to require lobbyists to disclose each contact they make on behalf of a client with my administration or with Congress. It's time to put strict limits on the contributions that lobbyists give to candidates for federal office.
Last month, Congress scoured the spending bill--all 1,000 pages of it--trying to find the most wasteful, pork-filled programs to cut.
They finally found one they could agree on: the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program, which provides vouchers that get poor children out of bad and dangerous public schools into good private ones.
Cutting this program is a disgraceful example of how our leaders often pander to special interest groups than protect our most needy citizens.
And it's not that the voucher program didn't work. A federal study showed that the mostly black and Hispanic participants were making great academic gains, narrowing the achievement gap. And more than 70 percent of Washingtonians supported the program.
So why did Congress cut it out? The National Education Association wanted them to do so.
So our lawmakers--many of whom have their own kids in private schools--had a tough choice to make: Should they pander to the special interests that fund their campaigns, or help disadvantaged kids?
President Obama--who was the recipient of educational scholarships, and whose daughters attend an elite private school--signed the bill abolishing the program. His own secretary of education, Arnie Duncan, publically acknowledged that the voucher program had been a big success.
There are no bigger lobbyists in DC than the NEA... no bigger... and there's no bigger hypocrite that the one occupying the oval office... no bigger...
Your hope and change.
C'mon 2012... get here...

A sloppy one. But in fairness to The One his sloppiness is the result of Affirmative Action gone amok!
When you go years and years without anything you say being checked for accuracy or truthfulness (not always the same thing) you get sloppy.
Like a puppy that is never scolded for peeing on carpets all over the house...but suddenly pees all over an expensive Persian Rug. The puppy is rightfully confused!
Poor Obammy...his pissing on all things American isn't "cute" any more. His lies are increasingly obvious even to his most adoring fans (aka: the media). In other words:
"Barack Obama's chickens [dramatic pause] are coming home to roost!"

Barry is a One-Trick-Pony, a socialist. He's been taught all his life that capitalism is EVIL INCARNATE! He's going to blunder from one disaster to another (Hello Stimulus!). He has no loyalty to anyone but himself (sorry 'bout that Grandma!). It's all about Barry, all the time. Except when things don't work out. Then they're someone else's fault. 'Cause the buck doesn't stop at Barry. November 2012 can't some soon enough.

In this one Obama gets helped by another dimwit from Illinois, Dick Durban. Here is one fool who should be retired on his next election cycle. Dump The Dick should be the rallying cry for Illinois and any group that believes in charter schools, vouchers or school choice. Of course the people that go to charter schools in the area of Illinois I live in think that democrats are behind them 100%, I don't know how people live such self deluded lives. mpw

One of the topics of his speech at Georgetown University in April was education. Yet he shows no support whatsoever for the highly successful voucher program in DC. He complains about what Bush's spending saddled him with when arrived at the White House but wants to triple spending in his own administration in the face of decreasing revenue. He is indeed a liar, a cynic and expects we will not catch him in these flagrant contradictions. Americans should be beyond tired of having their intelligence insulted by this guy. I don't care how conciliatory he pretends to be from this point forward, his word is never to be trusted.

I share your pain, mpw - though 'Dump the Dick' is a great catch-phrase. Picture a Durbin poster colored to reflect his inner Joker - on top is 'Dump the', and under the joker you simply have 'Dick.'
Hmmm...

He's a terrible liar.
He tells a lie and everyone immediately knows it for what it is.
By contrast consider Bill Clinton. Now there was a man who could tell outrageous lies, but do so with sincerity and in a way that somehow made hem seem plausible. Afterward you would realize that he was lying, but his self-effacing attitude meant that few ever wanted to call him out to his face.
Obama's arrogance and his tendency to look down his nose at everyone makes people want to embarrass him for his attitude alone, not just his lies.

He may not be the democratic nominee in 2012. I can imagine that there are millions of democrats cringing because they didnt vote for Hillary. I believe Hillary will run and will win the nomination. Of course she will lose the general election because the minority vote will feel dissed.
