President Barack Obama has arrived, in just one year, at the very place no politician ever wants to be: the object of satire and scorn heaped on him by his very own supporters. David Michael Green, a professor of Political Science at Hofstra, has written a withering piece about the President and his political party.
Dr. Green's progressive political beliefs are somewhere to the Left of George McGovern, a point which will become clear when you read his article. No one can tear the hide off of a progressive as well as one of their own. Here is a teaser:
One year ago today, there was real question as to what could possibly be the future of the Republican Party in America. That's changed a bit now. And, speaking of 'change', the one kind that Barack Obama did actually deliver this year was not that which most voters had in mind after listening to him use the word incessantly, all throughout 2008. Obama and his colleagues have now managed to bring the future of the Democratic Party into question, just a year after it won two smashing victories in a row.
Personally, I'm not real bothered by that. Today's Democrats are, almost without exception, embarrassing hacks who deserved to get stomped a long time ago. What really upsets me, however, is what these fools have allowed to be done to the name of progressivism, and to the country.
Barack Obama has now, in just a year's time, become the single most inept president perhaps in all of American history, and certainly in my lifetime. Never has so much political advantage been pissed away so rapidly, and what's more in the context of so much national urgency and crisis. It's astonishing, really, to contemplate how much has been lost in a single year.
Read the whole thing. It is hilarious. And don't miss the "Conan" Obama reference!

I would claim plagarism, but it's so utterly obvious that it would be surprising if EVERYONE failed to come to the same conclusion. The other big difference, of course, is that I hail it as the true brilliance of the concept of the republic - and this twit is crying in his beer, er, wine cooler.

You filthy neocons go ahead and just continue to live in your filthy neocon fantasy land. We liberal trolls all know you are losers and you will always be losers. Sometimes I hear voices and the voices tell me you are insane.

It would be more aptly titled "How to miss the point of the last year".
He rails at Obama for all his failed policies. Amazingly he never connects that all of Obama's failures have been with his radical leftist policies and appointments.
True Obama has failed to make use of the dramatic enthusiasm that swept him into office, but not for lack of trying. In fact his attempts to subvert the NEA for the production of propaganda was one of the first significant faux pas of his administration. Obama wanted to turn the enthusiasm into a full fledged cult of personality. He was even going to try. The law and cooler head prevailed.
The fact is that the few policies he has carried over from Bush are the ones that poll best for him. People want the US to win in Iraq and Afghanistan. Only leftist idiots like David Michael Green and Barack Obama want the US to lose.
So by all means pursue a drastic turn to the left. Keep pushing the most unattractive parts of this administration. Go appoint more Maoists and child pornographers as czars. Try to take over more parts of the economy. Continue to use DHS and the TSA to portray your political adversaries as terrorists. Try to stifle dissent on the radio and internet.
Go ahead. We really don't mind watching you fail.

Actually, it makes perfect sense. It's like Dante's Inferno. Every time the protagonist wanted to descend to a deeper level of Hell he had to take the way to the left.
Mr Green has successfully pointed the way that Obama wants to take this country.

I think what Professor Green also has to consider is that in Obama trying to do too much to quickly he has exposed the far leftist agenda so blatantly for what it is that you would have to be a corpse not to see the tyranny to which it leads. Is Professor Green upset at the agenda itself or at Mr Obama's amatuerish way in trying to enact it? Either way we should be happy Obama is so inept.
Also to quote the frustrated Professor:
"If you really want to bring your government crashing to the ground, why not spend endless months negotiating with vicious thugs, who will never vote for your legislation anyhow, because they are so entirely devoted to your destruction that they're willing to call you a granny murderer? What a great and winning strategy!"
Nice attmpt at sarcasm but Obama had no intention from day one to compromise with alternative proposals such as tort reform or cross-state underwriting of insurance. Remember the "I Won" statement?
Professor Green might be right thinking Mr Obama may end up being the worst President in the history of the United States. But considering his intended agenda, if Obama's ineptitude has woken up the average voter then I appreciate there is not a more clever socialist occupying the Oval Office at this time.

Obama never attempted 'bipartisanship' unless you mean 'bribe' and 'extort' from Republicans like Snowe and Collins. He was and always has been hostile to any Republican proposal that does not fit his agenda. He had that history in Illinois, and he kept it up in th US Senate and now in the White House. His 'golden oratory' never has matched his deeds, and his promises have never matched his actions.
Those who voted for him out of 'hope and change' were either conned, or willfully blind. But it was the MSM, hungry for a Dem in the White House, along wth a Dem-controlled House and Senate, who helped obscure Obama's history and lead the charge to get him in power, no matter how radical, inexperienced and incompentent he actually was.

To the left allowing the republicans to take their seats in congress was considered compromise. Obama's experience in Illinois and in the US Senate has been one of an absolute uncompromising ideologue.
Of course it's possible that Mr Greene's "meeting with thugs" reference is referring to Obama's weekly meetings with Andy Stern of the SEIU.
