Big Hollywood linked to What Would Toto Watch who caught an interview Cameron did with an Entertainment Weekly reporter:
Entertainment Weekly asked Cameron to respond to some of the criticisms aimed at him regarding "Avatar." Check out how he responded to this one:EW: "'Avatar' is the perfect eco-terrorism recruiting tool."JC: "Good, good. I like that one. I consider that a positive review. I believe in eco-terrorism."
Was he joking or was he serious? It's too hard to tell because the transcript does not indicate laughter. In all honesty, it doesn't matter to me because I will not see his movies and put more money in that weirdo's pocket.

This is typical of wealthy, socialist, liberals. Capitalism is fine when it serves to make them wealthy but, once they are nestled into their 4th home in Idaho or Colorado they become the guardians of the earth's open lands. I don't remember these liberal movie makers putting out any movie that is free to the masses to see.

Kim, it is a wonderful film with only the minimalist ecology problem. The "corporation" did not want to ruin the planet or stay there much longer but to have the precious ore that was under the natives home town. That simple. This isn't Cameren's view, the eco jerks are reading too much into it. I did take offense of the portrayal of marines as heartless and mean. The marines are brave and first on the line of battle, but they have a big heart because they do that for their country. So, go see the movie. It is very enjoyable. ww

So many Lifestyle and Entertainment tuchas posts at Wizbang lately!
"James Cameron: I Believe in Eco-Terrorism"
The gist is enigmatical.
Well, no. Finnegan's Wake is enigmatical; Cameron's sentence is just bad.
We must assume that Cameron believes there's such a Thing as eco-terrorism---the truth of which is beyond contention. And not that he, Cameron, is Pro eco-terrorism.
Which brings up the question, What is Kim outraged over?
Is she taking up the Greenpeace banner and the cause of literalism against Cameron and his poor sentence construction? That Cameron believes in the cause of eco-terrorism?
Or, does she take the moderate (majoritarian) interpretation, that Cameron recognizes the dangers of eco-terrorism and is (culturally?) opposed to it?
I'll bet the second option gets Kim's goat, judging from the goober galleria in comments.
Eco-terrorism, under various case words, has been a political and military contingency since the ancient Chinese wars. To deny sustenance to the enemy forces or social class. The destruction of the American Bison is the classic American example.
"In all honesty, it doesn't matter to me because I will not see his movies and put more money in that weirdo's pocket."-kim
Spoken like an outraged junk movie fanatic.
Such blanket resolutions defy the hard fact that great movies can come from unlikely sources. And great film makers can have a slew of stinkers. I'm thinking of Scorcese, post-Casino: The Departed was especially disappointing. Won't someone put Jack Nicholson to sleep? And that Tarantino-esque ending. You know: where everybody has each other "covered"!!!1!

bD: so you won't complain when the eco-terrorists burn down your home cause it isn't green enough or is built in the "wrong" place, burn your car and truck (or put sugar in the gas tank) cause they aren't carbon neutral, and cut off your power and ISP because it isn't run on green power?
Maybe you should publish your address for them to make it easier?
