As Rick pointed out below, Brian Lamb of C-Span sent a letter to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and President Obama and asked that they allow C-Span's cameras into their health care negotiations. Today Nancy Pelosi responded and and she channeled Baghdad Bob:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) defended Congress's work on a healthcare bill today as having historic transparency as C-SPAN mounted an effort to open negotiations to TV cameras.C-SPAN wrote a letter to congressional leaders today asking that TV cameras be allowed in negotiations to reconcile the House and Senate bills.
Pelosi said Congress had been transparent throughout the process.
"There has never been a more open process for any piece of legislation," Pelosi said at a press conference.
She's hilarious, isn't she? What a card. "Never been a more open process for any piece of legislation." Ha! Pull the other one, Nancy.
So, Nancy Pelosi denies what is crystal clear to everyone else while she, Harry Ried, and Barack Obama go back to their secret back room machinations and decide what the combined bill will look like. Republicans won't have any say on the bill's contents and the American people will be left totally in the dark about a piece of legislation that will impact every aspect of their lives.
Update: Michael Steele commends Speaker Pelosi for at least keeping a straight face as she patted herself on the back for the unprecedented levels of transparency in health care legislation negotiations that the Democrats have locked the Republicans out of (Via Breitbart).

Hmmm ... I coulda swore there were House and Senate rules about how bills are introduced, debated, voted on, and so on. Now here in America, you follow the rules, or reap the consequences. But it appears that these dems don't plan to follow any rules, and apparently there is no downside to them just doing whatever they please. So why bother having rules? Seems like congressional anarchy is real in for 2010.
