The video comes to us from Andrew Malcom at LAT's Top of the Ticket. For a while now William Shatner has gone on Conan O'Brien to recite some of the things Sarah Palin has said. It was done to make fun of her, of course, but last night Sarah Palin got her revenge. Note the crowd's reaction when she comes on stage:
Bruce, Shatner's previous appearances on Conan's show were not malicious but they were meant to make fun. Last night Palin took the opportunity to sling a few jokes back at him.

What I found most intriguing about this performance was the seeming lack of Gov. Palin's distinctive accent.
According to a book I read once, Fran Drescher took voice lessons to reduce her nasal New York accent. When speaking with a general American accent, people often wouldn't believe it was her!

Yep, this was fun theater. It was rehearsed. Shanter is a decent actor and he played his role well. BTW the audience had a few folks in it quite sympathetic to Sarah, and if you bother to read her Facebook notes on the visit to the show, you'll see who and why.
The point is that she has the pull now to get Conan and his network to allow her the time and grace to have this exposure. That is awesome, and I suppose it scares the hell out of a few people that include both GOP insiders and left-wing loonies.
