Cop killer shot and killed by the brotherhood:
Police in Seattle have shot and killed the man suspected of executing four Lakewood, Wash., police officers.ABC News has confirmed that Maurice Clemmons was killed after police followed leads to a city address where he was hiding. Details of the early-morning confrontation weren't immediately available, but police have said gunfire was exchanged.
Seattle police had been watching several homes, with officers assigned to watch each location, authorities said today.
Clemmons, 37, had been the focus of an intense two-day manhunt that included a systematic raid of the homes of his friends and family, who were believed to have been helping him evade capture.
My hope is that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson aren't on the way to hold a press conference as to how Clemmons' civil rights were violated.

A few relatively cheap bullets saved (or created) King and Pierce Counties millions of dollars in trials and appeals.
And I heard this on 710 KIRO on the way to work this morning: There are at least 7 friends and family members who aided and abetted Clemmons, misdirected authorities and obstructed justice. A KC prosecutor said "we'll be bringing the hammer down" and filing as many charges as possible. (Lack of morality and humanity shown by these people is sickening.)
None of this, however, brings back these fine cops to their families. 9 kids are still without a mom and dad, and that just tears at your heart.

I am not a lefty and I seriously resent being labeled one just because I don't agree with everything said here. Dissent is patriotic and this doesn't change just because you don't agree with what I am saying. I am very conservative but I also believe in the rule of law as upheld by the police that were murdered. Secondly yes, I am a firm believer in the right to self-defense and to return force with force.
I haven't read anywhere that he opened fire on the officer that was investigating the stolen vehicle in question. All I have heard is that he was standing on the street and did not stop moving when the officer ordered him to halt and show his hands. He didn't brandish a weapon or make threatening moves towards the officer.

I'll take your word for it. However, until I see evidence to the contrary, the police get the benefit of the doubt, not the criminal. Your assertion that the suspect did nothing to provoke the officer is pure speculation. The suspect was known to be exceedingly dangerous. If he was told to freeze several times and did not, that is provocation enough in my book. It only takes a fraction of a second for someone to draw a weapon and fire.
Your reflex seems to be to trash the police. That is hardly a conservative tendency in my experience. If you are asserting that an officer should wait until they are fired on to react - that is very foolish and a good way to wind up dead.
You better believe that I would obey the commands of a police officer, especially one who has drawn his weapon. That is the normal reaction of a law-abiding citizen. Thugs and criminals will behave otherwise and reap the consequences.
If anyone wants to assert that the suspect 'did not know what he was doing' then I am going to call B.S. He knew enough to flee and was cunning enough to elude the police, therefore he was able to understand simple commands.

No, no, Jeff. In the "real" Hollywood world, all cops are expert marksmen. Can shoot a gun out of your hand at 100 yards, in the dark. And if disarmed, have years and years of hand-to-hand combat experience under their black belts.
