Via The Blotter:
U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan tried to make contact with people linked to al Qaeda. It is not known whether the intelligence agencies informed the Army that one of its officers was seeking to connect with suspected al Qaeda figures, the officials said.
Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said that he requested the CIA and other intelligence agencies brief the committee on what was known, if anything, about Hasan by the U.S. intelligence community, only to be refused.
In response, Hoekstra issued a document preservation request to four intelligence agencies. The letter, dated November 7th, was sent to directors Dennis Blair (DNI), Robert Mueller (FBI), Lt. Gen Keith Alexander (NSA) and Leon Panetta (CIA).
Hoekstra said he is "absolutely furious" that the house intel committee has been refused an intelligence briefing by the DNI or CIA on Hasan's attempt to reach out to al Qaeda, as first reported by ABC News.
"This is a law enforcement investigation, in which other agencies--not the CIA--have the lead," CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano said in a response to ABC News. " Any suggestion that the CIA refused to brief Congress is incorrect."

I would not think for one minute that Muslims can't serve honorably in our armed services. I know that many have and many will in the future, I have read the stories of the help and insight that Muslins have given on and off the battle field when fighting with us.
I also believe that Muslims serving in the armed forces could be a special target for those who want to destroy this country. Radicals who want to and try to convert military personnel against the country are high on the radical list. SO WE MUST BE CAREFUL AND MONITOR THOSE WHO SEND UP RED FRAGS. This guy clearly did, and should have been brought to the attention of General Casey. He was not. this is not an indictment of all Muslims, but a recognition that there are many who want to radicalize some if they could, and we must be vigilant always.

PC is firmly bipartisan.
Mohammad Atta was in attendence at the US Army's International Officers' School. Later spotted on Republican leg man Jack Abramoff's Suncruz mafia gambling boat off the Florida coast.
Other 9/11 conspirators attended US Army language programs on-base. All were being sheperded by various redundant FBI "offices".
Bin-Ladin was a paid CIA operative known personally by GHW Bush since the 1970s.
The anthrax attacks were traced to Fort Detrick, MD.
In the 1990s, Timothy McVeigh volunteered for an Army Intelligence role and became a patsy for ATF terrorism "drill gone awry", a'la Navy Intelligence man L.H. Oswald and a secret service "sting" in 1963.
But back to now: GW Bush is slowly moving his furniture to his vast estates in Paraguay. Which are guarded by the US Army in a series of "camps", btw.
As for the latest Ft Hood events, things always come out in the wash though seldom if ever officially "confirmed", but the strictly partisan reader will keep adding bleach anyway til the threads themselves dissolve into comfortable myth, he hopes.

Beyond that, it was wrong for Pelosi to accuse the CIA of lying, but now it's ok to accuse them of lying? Does no one else see a double standard here?
Either the CIA is lying about refusing the briefing, or the Representative is lying. Given the choise, I will always pick the CIA on these matters. The CIA has stated unequivocally that "[a]ny suggestion that the CIA refused to brief Congress is incorrect." So which is it? Are they lying, or is the Representative lying? 914, at least this time his conspiracy rant manages not to blame the Papacy or the Joooos.
Wayne,
Read Rance @ 22. He dismissed the PC angle out of hand because of the intelligence that was not acted on, blaming it on agency turf wars. We have no evidence of this yet. We only know someone knew something, not what they did with it. That is my point of contention.

914, I've never accused you of being capable of clever word play (unless of course you and Brian Richard Allen happen to share the same personal identity).
I should have also mentioned the Beltway Sniper as another example of an "onshore terrorist act". And what effing difference does it make whether terrorists kill Americans in America or elsewhere? Doesn't it bother you when Americans are murdered in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bali, etc.?

Ratline involved Vatican underground railroad for escaping Nazis and Ustacha. And Hitler likely had one Jewish grandparent.

Yes, political correctness along with a heavy dose of spineless, limp-wristed out and out cowardice when confronted with the duty of exposing this Islamic twerrorist
