Especially as regards the Middle East?
I ask because the Israeli Navy seized a large shipment of weapons bound for Hezbulla from Iran, and our Government seems to be mute on the issue.
Weapons bound for Syria, Hizbullah
By Yaakov Katz and jpost.com staff
Jerusalem Post online
Hundreds of tons of weaponry, ten times the size of the Karine A shipment of 2002, were seized in an overnight raid Tuesday by the Israeli navy, some 100 nautical miles west of Israel, officials said.
Defense officials said the 140-meter long Francop, intercepted near Cyprus, was carrying arms sent by Iran and destined for Syria and possibly also Hizbullah.
The weapons seized on the ship, which was sailing under an Antiguan flag, included some 3,000 rockets of various types, as well as bullets and ammunition.
The transfer of such large amounts of weapons out of Iran could "create a balance of power" between Israel and terrorist organizations, assessed Brigadier General Rani Ben-Yehuda, deputy commander of the Israeli navy, at a press conference following the seizures.
In diplomatic parlance, this would be known as an "un-friendly" action on the parts of all governments (Iran and Syria) involved. Nor does this reflect well of the "reset" of relations by the current Administration.
With "partners in negotiations" such as Iran, The United States would be better served by more active enemies.

Close your eyes, click your heals three times and say, "The country is in the very best of hands! The country is in the very best of hands!"
Yeah, that ought to work.

914 - I would have no objection if they chose to complete the delivery of 30-50% of the cargo. By the same method you recommend.
But I'm not Israel, and Israel behaves in a far more restrained way then I would.

Yes they do. I dont know how they restrain themselves when they see their citizens being murdered by random bombings and lottery rockets? They have the highest regard for collateral damage and the loss of innocents much like our military ( God bless them), does.
Things like 911 though make You almost lose it and wish the whole place was turned to glass.

Steve G,
The Navy has been doing this for a long time, its nothing new. Dont try to give Obama credit where its not due. He voted to cut funds for Military spending, probably one of the few times He voted present (thats not support), so He cant be given johnny come lately street cred for the great work the Military does.
Well, Im off to work to pay for some more of Barrys recovery act so take care and see everyone around 10pm. lol

Steve, the only reason the Navy has done what it is supposed to do in the past is because Obama has yet to install one of his commie buddies as Czar of naval operations. You want a fact? Liberals are mentally ill. There is la fact. I think you are a liberal.

Funny how GW Bush has been intercepting these ships for years and now Steve Green doesn't want to blame Bush for it. Pathetic. Actually, I think Obama isn't a fan of the jews. Listen to his pastor speak on the issue. ww

The Navy, as always, does good work. So do the Army, Air Force and Marines. Their civilian "leadership" (if it can be called that) not so much!
The time will come when Israel will no longer hold back and when they finally let loose their retribution on Iran, noisy condemnation will rain down on their heads - despite how overdue the blow(s) dealt to Iran and its enablers actually happens to be. Will our president "get" the lesson on how to be a man? Hell to the "no"! He is a naive infant with only a partial ability to retain information. Hence TOTUS is required.

The ship didn't have Iranian weapons on it - no, no, nope - and it was going in the opposite direction than Israel claimed, and it was all a plant by Israel because the UN was about to have a committe meeting.
I kid you not!
