You read that right, Democrats angry at Republicans for a video on website, changed the locks on doors to keep Repubs out.
From the Wall Street Journal:
Democratic staff for the House oversight committee informed their GOP counterparts today that the majority has changed the locks on the committee's hearing room. While Republicans previously enjoyed their own key to the room, they will now have to request access from Democrats. This followed a bitter partisan argument in which Republicans refused to take down a video from their website that contradicted Dem explanations about a closed-door meeting on the Countrywide VIP loan scandal.
How does this help anyone, let alone the Democrats that did this? This stuff is just childish. Wait, I've got an idea! Talk out your problems and, gasp, compromise if it's really necessary. But changing the locks on your doors? What, did the GOP and Dems have a bad break-up and are changing their mutual locks to avoid any awkwardness?
Come on people, get together and work for you-know-who's sake. Oh, wait, you may give yourselves a raise.

the sad thing is that amongst a lot of voters this is justified and perfectly ok. can anyone imagine if the republicans would have done this 3 or 4 years ago? the outcry??? i know that card keeps being thrown down "what would happen if the Republicans did x..", but this is such a glaring example of the double standard... these republicans need to be flooding the news stations, yelling and screaming to anyone who will listen... that is part and parcel of their problem...

Childishness aside, isn't this obstructing members of Congress from doing their jobs? I don't know the legal ramifications of this, though.
You know what I say...GOP counterparts should go to the Yellow Pages and hire a locksmith to come make them a new key.

Shouldn't need a locksmith.
An 8-pound sledgehammer should open the door the children locked.
If it's a heavy door, get a 16-pound one.
High explosives should do the trick, also.
That'll get the Democrats the "transparency" they promised...

That's the problem, VIC - we're seeing far too much OF that 'nothing' - pushed by the Democrats. They want to spend money from 'nothing' - shoving the defict higher than a circling buzzard in a thermal. They want to shove out a 1500 page bill, fat with obtuse and layman-opaque language, telling us 'nothing' with change.
The taxes involced with brining us this 'nothing' will run well over $900,000,000,000 - yet that's considered 'nothing' of significance.
The 'nothing', I think, is between your ears. I must admit, the bracing involved in keeping the sides of your skull from smashing together from the absence of your brain must be truely ingenious.

The answer is another video showing the Wall Street Journal headline and a group of Republicans trying to use their old keys to get into the now locked-door meeting. The jest of the video is corrupt Democrats hiding their faux investigation behind locked doors.
You would want to take the locked out shot early when the room was empty as there's a good chance of someone "accidentally" breaking off their key in the lock.
Democrats acting childish or in bad faith is always a good opportunity for Republicans to show the public the mistake they made in electing them.

I believe the best strategy is what Mac Lorry suggested - make a mocking video of this type of childish behavior and show it everywhere. Buy prime time ad space on the most popular entertainment shows, as the people watching those shows probably aren't going to learn about this. Do we believe the "marginal stream media" will even report it?
Mocking bad behavior is devastating to the recipient. It can be funny and entertaining while driving a sharp point home.
