(Los Angeles - August 4, 2009) - EXTRA sources say that Paula Abdul will not be returning to "American Idol" and the news is confirmed on her Official Twitter.After eight successful seasons on "American Idol," Paula Abdul announced she will not be returning as a judge this fall.
Abdul turned to her Twitter account to make the news public, writing, "With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to 'Idol.' I'll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1 become an international phenomenon."
The Grammy winner added, "What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me."
Farewell crazy, drugged out midget, we'll miss you...

I've watched a couple of episodes of this over the last 8 years...
Can't say I'll miss her at all. Or the show, for that matter, if it should somehow disappear.

There are conflicting estimates of her pay and offered pay on the web, but it seems that she feels $3 - 5 million per year is beneath her.
I sure wish someone would offer to diss me like that ....

SAUD must be from the Rahm Emanuel school of life... never waste a good crisis. And he's totally mired in his mindset that everything is an opportunity to dump on things he doesn't like. Hey, SAUD, are you Lee Ward?

The only reason to watch the show was Simon's response to the wannabees and Paula's reaction to Simon. It sure wasn't because of Ryan Seacrest. Well, maybe Randy's laugh but, that's it.

I've noticed a couple of times now in the comment threads here at Wizbang that people are asking if "Still an Unrepentant Democrat" is actually Lee Ward.
They never comment on the threads at the same time, which is fishy (report that to flag@whitehouse.gov) - however SAUD has made no mention of Sarah Palin, which leads me to believe he is NOT Lee Ward.

I liked Paula. What can I say? I like the show, too.
I think Paula was unhappy that Simon took home a paycheck that was 50 times bigger than hers. This is a lesson in why not to share your salary information; it only leads to unhappiness. If she didn't know Simon's salary, she would be happy to take home $1 million per year.

I watch Idol with my family, not bad entertainment. I predicted she was gone when the added the new judge last season. She did not look happy.

Why does SAUD think I was being sarcastic? I wasn't, that was an honest question, based on the observations listed. Can he explain to me how Paula Abdul leaving Idol gets us to a Fox News reader? Of course not, only in his twisted little mind.
On the other hand, although I never watched Idol (actually mute the sound whenever a commercial comes on), about 25 years ago I did consider joining MWWLTFPAB (Men Who Would Like To Father Paula Abdul's Baby). Never did though.

Paula has been in deep trouble since she gave private coaching lessons, and who knows what else to one of the contestants. My guess is Fox just waited for her contract to expire, and just didn't rernew, rather than making an issue out it. Ratings are important and a lawsuit woukdn't have been good for the show.
Personally I think they should have fired her on the spot, but that's not the way modern business works now.
