If you haven't seen this advertisement put out by the GOP, take a minute or two to take a look. Obama says his health care reform is the prescription our country needs to cure what ails us, but he doesn't even know what's in it. Those of us who have taken a look at the concoction have determined the side effects are more likely to make the so-called cure worse than the disease.
And in doing so, in typical incompetent GOP fashion, the 'we're so impressed with ourselves' geniuses that did this ad buried the good stuff at the end. A key in advertising is to lead with the benefits as you need to give people a reason to listen, otherwise you risk having them tune you out. In fact, listening half focused on this (the way lots would), it could easily come across as an endorsement of the Obama-Pelosi plan.

This we leave us with fewer qualified doctors, specialist and nurses. I have personal knowledge of pre-med students who are currently changing career direction because the government is even thinking of changing health care. We need to be very careful what we wish for. I think this healthcare legislation has the very real potential of permanently damaging healthcare coverage for everybody.
The other question that needs to really be asked and examined is the so called fact that "45 million people don't have health care coverage". Who are these people? Are they legal? Are the teen-agers? Are they people who can afford coverage and choose not to? Are they people who are covered under a spouses coverage? I think we need to challenge this premise.
I also predict that if a public health insurance plan exists, businesses will not hesitate to reduce the health benefits provided to employees thus forcing those with good coverage now on to government run plans similiar to Medicaid and Medicare. These are the kind of ads we should be running.

Why not throw a fit over public roads? Doesn't it make sense that you shouldn't be paying for a road I use and I pay for a road you use? We should privatize the fire department too, then when my house catches on fire and I'm in between jobs and can't afford fire insurance premiums I'll just have to watch it burn. hmmm You understanding the point yet? You're already paying for everyone elses health insurance, but you're paying a lot more because the uninsured end up in the ER and doctors know they get subsidies for treating the uninsured so they order extra tests and anything that cost more, but leave them sick so they'll be back and they can do the same thing all over again. WE pay this bill, and this bill would be much much cheaper if these people had insurance and doctors were paid to actually help people and get them better, along with getting an education whose curriculum isn't controlled by the insurance and drug industries.

wow, "Carol Stanton",
That has to be the sloppiest and/or laziest past from another blog I have ever seen.

jon ruh,
I suspect you are one of the reasons people make decent money teaching summer school English and civics. If you were 15 or so years older, you too could have helped pay for my car insurance every August. :)

Seriously, all this talk of healthcare reform is just another distraction. Next week, there will be a FEMA National Disaster Drill July 27 thru 31st. If you read the side bar next to this video, you will see people will be "mock" corralled and disarmed in select states in the U.S. : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=458XIiMPGMA Also, here is a phone call from a woman who has evidence that truckers are being paid under the table in the thousands by bank of america to transport the bird flu to different locations http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPcSGvPC7yE Heads up, folks all those FEMA coffins are here for a reason. See what you can do to take care of yourself and your families, because this stuff is for real. Hide your guns and ammo.

Also, I don't know how much you are in to Hal Lindsey, Kim, but in this video he is very clear and concise about what is supposed to happen in the U.S. by 2010. Of course, citizens will be completely oblivious to it and no formal announcement will be made. But just like the rationalization of partial-birth abortion, which is to me, nothing less than "processing" human beings and murder, the swine flu and change of demographics will invoke martial law and divide our nation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjjAA7EpK5c
