During an interview the other day, President Obama was annoyed by a fly buzzing about his head so he did what many of us would have done. He killed it. But get this. PETA issued a comment saying the president should have shown compassion. Unbelievable. These folks have way too much time on their hands.
In a nutshell, our position is this: He isn't the Buddha, he's a human being, and human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act.If all this has you wondering how you can be a bigger person (figuratively, as well as literally) in your dealings with exoskeletal beings, check out our handy-dandy bug catcher--one of which we are sending to President Obama for future insect incidents.
With Obama taking over the American auto industry, attempting to socialize health care, nationalizing the banks, and turning America's war on terror into a criminal justice endeavor, PETA places its priority on a house fly.

When I say the video, I hardly expected that it would show up on Wizbang in a PETA reference.
I thought it could be used powerfully as a metaphor in many venues, but never as a direct complaint about exoskeleton abuse!

My God, PETA has "jumped the shark" now. Flies carry all manner of diseases and are irritating as all hell when they buzz around one's ear in the middle of the night! I applaud the President for doing something worthwhile in removing 1 of those pestiferous critters from the land of the living and wish him well in future endeavors of like kind.

So how did this exoskeletal being get past the secret service agents? Being flies are dangerous, either because they byte or because they carry pathogens, President Obama can claim he was acting in self-defense :-)

Roy there must be a more dangerous insect than what you suggest. I like Tsetse flies, or better yet angry Africanized bees. Better yet hunger endangered Polar bears. Poor babies need something good to eat like a PETA person. PETA want sacrifice from all of us to save these animals. I want to see them sacrifice themselves for the benefit of these same animals. I hear the tigers of India are hungry.

What's really comical to me, is recently poison was dumped from helicopters on an island off Alaska to kill a bunch of rats. Said rats have inhabited this island for-oh-a few centuries now, and they are just now getting around to exterminating them. There are actually numerous benefits behind the population of rats, and we are led to believe that birds are just now beginning to return to the island because of this action. So, are they going to rename the island? Oh Mighty Peta! Where is your outrage?
