I have a column up today at Pajamas Media about Obama's criticism that America has been arrogant, dismissive, and derisive. Here's a portion:
While in Strasbourg, President Barack Obama told an audience in a townhall meeting that America needs to change its attitude toward Europe. He said America was wrong for not celebrating Europe's "dynamic union" and not seeking "to partner" with them to better address the "common challenges" that face our nations. He even went so far as to say past American policy was misguided because it had "shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive," an obvious rebuke of former President Bush. The president made these highly critical comments of his own country on foreign soil in an effort to "rebuild" the transatlantic relationship between the United States and Europe by offering an olive branch. The president's comments were greeted with cheers. They were described as electrifying and inspiring. And they are the most classic case of projection exhibited by an American president to date.
Just a few days ago in a meeting with American CEOs of American banks, President Obama's tone and attitude were rife with the arrogance, dismissiveness, and derision he had just criticized in Europe. A participant in the meeting told Politico that when the CEOs tried to explain that the nature, complexities, and competition of the finance and banking industries required that they continue retention bonuses for their employees, the president became impatient. He interrupted them and said, "Be careful how you make those statements, gentlemen. The public isn't buying that. My administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks."
The imagery behind Obama's threat couldn't be more obvious: comply with my demands or I will make sure you are harassed, intimidated, and run out of town on a rail. He made them an offer they couldn't refuse. Don Corleone couldn't have said it better.
Be sure to read the rest of it here.

In addition to arrogance, derision, and dismissive, you can also add extortionist.
Obama refuses TARP repayment, wants control of banks
Obama and his comrades now have the gall to tell banks "NO" when they want to refuse TARP funds. All so Obama can control the banks and be forced to government dictates.
Betrayer-in-Chief he is.

It seems to me the calculating, dishonest Wall street barons/banksters have taken the taxpayer for hostage, and Obama as well.
Obama is esentially righ,t if the banks' balance sheets and practices were really opened up the public would be outraged. Not slash the regulations Ayn Rand friendly wizbang of course.. The failed financial services friendly Tresury Secretary Geithner would certainly have to resign if the systemic Wall Street fraudalent practices were revealed as we bailout the same deceitful executives who got us into our trouble. It is only Congressional and public pressure that is putting any heat on the failed CEO's for covering up the size of the losses.

"The same deceitful executives who got us into our trouble currently populate the halls of Congress.."
"The best way to rob a bank is to own one."
This is apparently Obamas plan. Likewise, if the stimulus pork bills balance sheets and Congresses practices were really opened up the public would have been outraged and it would not have been crammed down our throats.

Crickmore, give me a break. To suggest that Congress should play a role in putting the heat on failed CEOs is laughable - that's like having felons acting as experrt witnesses against other felons. Fine with me to prosecute any CEOs that broke laws. But this blanket demonization of business that the Obama administration surreptitiously encourages is a crime in of itself. It displeases Obama to see "excessive" wealth go to someone who may have actually had an honest hand in creating it, but it is not so displeasing for him to skim off the same wealth to fund his political favors. This President is simply a rigid idealogue lacking any intellectual and creative depth. It's the same liberal mantra over and over again...make laws that punish the innocent along with the offenders: corporate salaries, gun owners, you name it. The Europeans and Obama seem to forget what type of economic system rebuilt the infrastructure and commerce in their countries following World War II. How is it possible to have a whole continent (Europe) filled with such self-loathing and myopic individuals.

Obama will get his 'cap and trade' by his usual tactics:
Rahm Emmanuel will brief his MSM flunkies to broadcast and print pro cap and trade stories, while defaming any person who opposes it.
ACORN and 'environmental groups' having 'protests' and 'demonstrations' against these opponents.
Obama having another 'press conference' where he will again, push for 'cap and trade' while only taking approcved questions from those in the MSM who he has already approved. Watch for the NYT to be a prime ally in exchange for a 'bail out' of the Boston Globe.

I'm betting you skipped that civics class in school or you haven't been paying much attention to the antics of the "I won" for the last 3 months to know otherwise. Obama has done *nothing* to maintain the 'status quo' as he's been busy flushing *TRILLION'S* of taxpayer dollars down failing business model rat holes.
He is diplomatically and socially inept and although being president of the US used to make you the leader of the free world he is now bowing to Saudi royals.
Not to worry though, he's a one term blunder.
