It seems there's an effort afoot led by U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn. and others to get more Muslims employed in the White House. Ellison's group has created a list of 45 top Muslim-Americans that has just been submitted to Obama. It's an effort that has been under the radar, according to the Denver Post:
The effort, driven by community leaders and others, including U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., was bumped up two weeks because White House officials heard about the venture, said J. Saleh Williams, program coordinator for the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association, who sifted through more than 300 names."It was mostly under the radar," Williams said. "We thought it would put (the president) in a precarious position. We didn't know how closely he wanted to appear to be working with the Muslim American community."

Makes you wonder about how carefully they're 'vetting' these guys, looking at how the vetting process has done so far.
And I'm wondering just why they figured it had to be kept under the radar, so to speak.

Outrageous - when will liberals learn that they have to choose people based on skills and merit, and not simply to create "diversity"? Sickening.

Oh for Pete's sake. He's been pontificating for two years about building bridges between the faiths - particularly Muslims with others - and you go all clandestine delivering lists to the White House from your pocket. If you're acting like you have to sneak, then people will begin to wonder why you're sneaking. The above reason is lame.

Does he actually think promoting Muslims to positions in his administration will make him, his administration and the US in general more well recieved by Muslim nations?
Does he honestly think Iran and the Taliban will back off now that he's pursuing these people?!?!

You see he has apologized to all the Muslim groups he feels that Bush has gone after.
The misunderstood Talibahn, Hamas and Mulahs of Iran.
Now he must do something to make up for the way he treated American Muslims.
The difference is that Bush went after groups that threaten the western world. Obama showed true prejudice.
