Too big to fail.
An unfortunate, annoying catch-phrase which has sunk into the lexicon of modern day political discourse.
What does it mean? To what does it refer?
What, really, can be "too big to fail"?
Companies? Used to be that if a company failed, that was it. You didn't change with the times, the fluctuations, the market circumstances, and you could kiss your ass goodbye. AIG is supposedly too big to fail. Why? Because Obama, Pelosi, and Reid say so? Does anyone believe that a company with an 80% government ownership is really going to survive? Failure is the most likely option for this entity, no matter how much money the government throws at it.
Ideology? Can an ideology be too big too fail? One born out of hate? One which uses violence and indiscriminate murder throughout the world, with ugly rhetoric and a warped book as it rational?
Human creations? We've all marveled at the height and size of our structures. Felt they were wondrous works of human ingenuity. But even our biggest and best fell, some to the evil from those with the purposes of the above mentioned. Bridges, machines, ships. All forms of these human endeavors have failed for one reason or another.
All this teases a question: Is Obama too big to fail?
A larger than life figure for much of the past 2 years. A juggernaut of a politician who has mesmerized millions, talking his way into their psyche, making it all the way to the top of the political food chain. "The Messiah". "The One". "The Great Uniter". He would set things on the righteous path: with the people, with the economy, the nation, the world, even the Earth would be healed.
Hope and change was his mantra. A great slogan. But into what has it evolved? Hope has dwindled a bit. Sure, there are those who still have blind faith in his words. Not as much as there used to be. Obama won with a hopeful message, but false hope is all we've been shown.
Change? Well, he's certainly accomplished that. He, along with his toadies Pelosi and Reid, have, in two months, shoved this government so far to the left, I believe even Obama is surprised at what he's been able to get over on us all. He cares not if we know or approve of this change, because they have the power. And that is all that matters to them. They are using that power in a most expedient method, using meaningless diversions to keep us from focusing on the profoundly dangerous change they are instituting.
Is he too big to fail?
No.
Even though the people have been blinded by this untested, manipulative charlatan, having elected him under false pretense with a destructive Marxist lineage, change, real change is not yet impossible.
And it won't be his doing.
I believe there is only one force on this Earth that is too big to fail.
WE own this country.
WE put these arrogant, pompous asses in their positions, and WE have the power to get them out.
WE are the only ones truly too big, too strong, and too proud to fail".
And we must waste no time in showing that to be the truth.
2010 is the start. The awakening of the only institution too big to fail is fast approaching.

WE can take back more seats in the House and Senate in 2010 if WE don't shoot ourselves in the foot by nominating lukewarm RINOs. WE need to nominate candidates that can deliver the message without dilution and stand up for traditional American values.

You are correct in that most reject torture. What we do/did at Gitmo is not, in my humble experience, torture. Ask the fine purveyors of that commodity in, oh, Rwanda and I'm sure they'd be happy to demonstrate.
Cronyism, I'll give you that one. Many of Bush's choices weren't my favorites, but at least his cronys were qualified for their jobs and payed their taxes.
War for profit?!?!?! Just where, oh where are these profits of which you speak? And before you go about with the "Haliburton" talking point, I happen to have worked with Haliburton when I was in Wyoming once upon a while ago. They are fine people, and a large organization with many capabilities. My point? You don't (if time is a factor) open up bidding for contracts to do jobs that (really) only one company has the capability to do. If I wanted to get a coalmine up and running as quickly as possible, I would go straight to Caterpillar and P & H Minepro for their products and services. I don't waste time and money to see if the local Ma and Pa owned building company with their 2 backhoes and road grader can put in a lower bid.
Unchecked greed and lack of oversight?!?! Lack of OVERSIGHT!?!?! When did this economy start tanking? After the Dems took control of congress. Who has oversight at that point? The dems. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Those idiots down at foggy bottom caused ALL of this economic meltdown. They made the rules wherein the housing bubble was created by FORCING (via stiff fines) the banking industry into "Affermative Action Mortgaging." So at that point, the banks had a choice. Lose money via fines, or get stinkin' rich and play by the new rules being mandated by the idiots down at foggy bottom.
That was a ticking time bomb, and it happened to occur on Bush's watch. Don't dilude yourself from thinking otherwise.

As far as torture at Gitmo, it will come out in torrents as that sick place is closed and things come to light. It was never American to imprison human beings, no matter what you might have suspected them of, for life with no kind of hearing or trial. That shit should have NEVER happened on America's watch. I've read a newly released man's story about having his penis amputated for god knows why or what. The stories will come out, whether the dittoheads like it or not. Bush's America is not the real America.
Our country is waking up from a truly sick chapter in its history.
We were all there when the World Trade Center was attacked, but none of us knew the dark, sick things that a scared, paranoid, and blind America would tacitly let go on as long as we didn't have to see it.
Recently a Gitmo official, freed of the sick bonds that held him under the Bush administration said that "probably 85% of the detainees here are innocent."
What's really hard to swallow is that you can't be innocent or guilty of crime that you will never be charged with.
The America you people want to live in is not the America that the founders envisioned.
As far as believing the profound collapse of our economy, as deep as it is happened in the last 2 years, well you belong in the category that is cheerleading the first paragraph of my post.

Obama's Laugh???
What most people are not discerning is, is that Pres. Obama is somehow aiding us in facing this "shadow" or darkness of greed in our society. He is not trying to Hide it or Cover it up! Ironically, he is being blamed for not trying to Fix it in a hurry, so it will not be Exposed..... But to truly fix it, we must face it, identify it and generate enough public consensus so that it can be changed. That is how change is made. That is why I see Pres. Obama as really a true change agent. True and lasting change can only come from the people, demanding change. That is why Obama can laugh, he knows that the fat cats' days of unchecked greed and speculation are numbered!
Now GOP's new buzz word is "unsustainable", however, what was really "unsustainable" as the recent events so adequately portray is that George Bush's Iraq War, tax cuts to the wealthy, jobs going over seas, tax breaks to companies that shipped jobs over seas, deregulation of banks and insurance companies, and more (which I will leave to the experts to flush out), is the really true Unsustainable and break down and collapse of our economic system, fabric of society (bridges, roads, jobs, education), you name it, he failed in all aspects of this society. There are "tent" cities popping up all over United States because families can no longer sustain to live in a house because they no longer have a job!
This new buzz word "unsustainable" is a hoax, disingenous and hypocritical. Remember, they want Pres. Obama to Fail!
And lastly, let's be Clear, George W. Bush's first year in office was spent more at the Ranch then in Washington. Where was the Party of No's outrage then? May be if George had spent more time in D.C. working, they would have been more alert about the signs leading to 9/11, just a thought.....

Obama excells at getting people to believe what they want to believe about them - he's said so himself. If you look at his past record, he's got nothing at all to show for his time as a community organizer, Annenburg Challenge management, as a State senator, and as soon as he got into the Senate he started running for President.
He's a one-trick pony - he can convince people to vote for him. He's got nothing beyond that - and it's showing.

How many other bits of wastage are in the stimulus package, or the other loads of 'stimulating' money being tossed out? They deliberately hide the truth while playing the attack-dog role for the enemies of the state. It is no less than journalistic malfeasance, no more deserving of first amendment rights than any enemy combatant. And notice these whores now want to tell us what language is now acceptable? This is truly a Kafka moment.

So Shawn invents this strawman about Obama being too big to fail, complete with the right-wing inventions of "The Messiah" and "The One", only so he can pump his chest and disagree with himself.

Hey Brian, remember the L.A. Times when it ran, Obama the 'Magic Negro'?
How about when Obama himself stated that those unsure of who to vote for will have a ray of light shine on them, and they will receive an epiphany to vote for him?
Probably not since it was Farrakhan who stated, "the Messiah is absolutely speaking" and it was Oprah who stated in Iowa "He is the one!"

a browne - "Obama wins another round."
Specifically what did he do to get some of the AIG money returned?
If your answer is anything related to nothing your correct. If not you're just dreaming.
The reality is a combination of faux outrage perpetrated by the lamebrains in congress that fueled death threats and the idiotic and possibly unconstitutional tax bill aimed at AIG.
And BTW, guess you failed to notice, barack hussein obama reportedly will veto that tax bill IF it hits his desk.
So, just what did he do adrian?

Obama's Laugh......

In the history of the world, no man, has ever admitted to being wrong.
On the internet, a man would rather sit in his own excrement rather than admit he is WRONG.
Perhaps my fellow weiners out there would remember it was the Treasury Secratory who arranged to have the bonuses put in there, and now they want to have the power to seize banks so this can't happen again, after they put the law in there that made it possible.
And this makes sense how?
Funny how its out there but the main stream media ain't reporting it. Just RUsh Limbaugh.
