As I said a few posts ago, every time I turn around I read about a new, irrational, idiotic, incompetent, and harmful program that Barack Obama wants to implement. In this case, it's his attorney general who is behind this administration's newest irrational, idiotic, incompetent and harmful program. From ABC News:
Some detainees currently held at Guantanamo Bay could be released into the United States, while others might face criminal trials, Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters today."We are in the process of looking at all of the files of the people who remain held at Guantanamo so we can individualize determinations as to what should be done with them," Holder said.
Holder chairs the panel that has been charged with carrying out President Obama's order to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.
He said some of the detainees could be tried in U.S. courts, and also made the assertion that other detainees could be released into the United States.
Here are some suggestions: How about Chicago? DC? Los Angeles? Hollywood!
Seriously, though. When our attorney general says that some detainees who are currently being held in Guantanamo Bay for their role in 9/11 or for supporting, aiding, and abetting terrorism against the United States could be released into our midst, we have a serious problem on our hands.
Update: Melissa Clouthier was all over this on Tuesday and even has a video of who just may become your neighbor.
Update II: Why is the administration going to do something so stupid? Quid pro quo:
European justice ministers met with Mr. Holder earlier this week and pressed for details on how many Guantanamo prisoners the U.S. planned to release domestically, as part of any agreement for allies to accept detainees. Mr. Holder said U.S. officials would work to respond to the questions European officials have over U.S. Guantanamo plans.
Update III: Ed Morrissey on the Democrats' claim they are as strong on national security as the Republicans:
Democrats spent the years after 9/11 insisting that they could keep America just as safe as Republicans, given the chance. Maybe they had a different set of Democrats in mind than Barack Obama and Eric Holder.

These Damage-Causing-Humans should be given a strict warning that they will probably be given a Summons and a stern lecture if they cause any Human-Caused-Damage without Washington's express permission.
That will nip this in the bud. These poor, misunderstood folks will immediately see how wrong they have been about Amedika and would never dream of embarrassing the Obamessiah. Like a thousand Points of Light breaking out all over the Muslim world.
