What a witty guy:
The White House says former Vice President Dick Cheney is the second most popular member of the "Republican cabal," behind only talk-show host Rush Limbaugh.White House spokesman Robert Gibbs on Monday brushed off Cheney's criticism of President Barack Obama's new administration. Cheney said Sunday that Obama's decisions are threatening the nation's safety.
Obama reversed many of his predecessor's executive orders, including how the country treats suspected terrorists.Gibbs says Obama is keeping the nation safe and dealing with problems George W. Bush's administration did not.
Gibbs says his sarcasm shouldn't mask serious policy differences between Obama and the Bush-Cheney team.
Robert Gibbs may be the worst Press Secretary ever to hold the position.
Does he realize just how petty he sounds when he lowers the Office of the Presidency down to bickering about a private citizen?
Instead of trying to explain the difference between Cheney's viewpoint on the matters invoked, he resorts to goofy comparisons between Cheney and Rush?
"Obama is keeping the nation safe"? Just how is he doing that? No more "War on Terror"? Closing Guantanamo? Affording terrorists constitutional rights? Wanting to talk with "moderate" Taliban members? Not responding to sabre rattling of Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, and Iran? And just what do we call "enemy combatants" now that you've eliminated that phrase from your lexicon?
These people must not be too confident in their message if they need to constantly attack the most successful talk radio personality in the history of the medium.
This boob is most unprofessional, and he doesn't deserve the position he has been afforded.

Obama wouldn't last five minutes as PM in Question Time in the House of Commons before he burst into tears and ran from the room. No media to run interference, no handlers, no afore knowledge of the question, no nothing, just Obama and his interlocutor, mano a mano. Obama couldn't vote "present," couldn't invoke the race card, wouldn't have time to mobilize his Communist puppetmasters to smear his questioner, couldn't cheapshot the guy by releasing his divorce records, and saying "uh uh uh" wouldn't make it. He'd have to speak extemporaneously to defend his policies and positions.
"Will the Honourable Gentleman kindly explain to this House ..." and it would be all downhill from there.

Maybe you didn't notice, Parth, but we don't have a sodding parliamentary system!Furthermore, the President is not the equivalent to the majority party Prime Minister, whose leadership is determined by the MPs, and not by public by-elections.
The President (and his staff) are supposed to represent US, the citizen though his (and his staff's) actions, and such pettiness from his Press Sec (his mouthpiece to the public) is rather an astounding cock-up as to not be believe.

You don't have a very good grasp of parliamentary democracy, James. Stephen Harper, the Prime Minister of Canada, has only ever had a minority government and yet has ruled like his 35% electoral support is equivalent to a majority mandate. He dares the other parties to hold a vote of confidence, and the public's general dislike of frequent election campaigns (such as your perpetual campaign in America, which people are pretty sour on by the time they have to actually cast a vote) means that opposition parties usually shy away from challenging even the more vulnerable Prime Ministers--like Harper, or Netanyahu. Leaders who are totally without charisma are highly vulnerable, like Joe Clark who failed to pass a budget and limped off while Trudeau reclaimed his throne.
The personality of the leader of the dominant party--whether it be minority or majority--dictates the tone of debate in the House of Commons. This is true in Canada, Britain, and Israel. I'm not too familiar with other parliamentary democracies but don't think they would be too different.
