Tampa Police say 141 people were arrested during Tampa's annual pirate festival.Aarrr! What do you expect from a bunch of bilge rats?An estimated 350,000 people converged for the Gasparilla celebration.
Police in Tampa and Temple Terrace, as well as the Florida Highway Patrol and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office were responsible for 79 of the arrests. Those included two felonies, 73 misdemeanors and four charges of boating under the influence.
The Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco reported another 62 arrests, including 57 for possession under the age of 21.

I was there. All-in-all the crowd was excellent. Keep in mind that those folks were spread over many square miles of water and land.
Note that assault, rape, robbery, wasn't reported. (Okay, I don't know about the two felonies)
Actually, the bigger problem was crowd members using private properties as toilets. Some few folks even complain that their private property was used as a bedroom.
The policing was superb. If there was a problem the police seemed to materialize... solve it.. and disappear. These police agencies have a lot of experience with crowds having fun.
