I'm still waiting for the unctuous sermons from the usual suspects on the left about a Culture of Corruption that infects the Executive Offices of Democrat governors.
What a year this has been. Where is that odd combination of sermonizing and raucous humor that signals how much fun everyone is having?
What? Everyone is not enjoying this? The legacy media chorus practices for these moments every day but now their glee is strangely subdued. Amidst the wreckage of Representative William Jefferson (turned out before convicted), Eliot Spitzer ( prostitution and the Mann Act), Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich ( extortion, graft, bribery....take your pick) and Good Time Charlie Rangel ( Ways and Means Committee Chairman that can't find the way or the means to report offshore income) surely the legacy media can show the same humor that Ben Bradlee gave us during Iran Contra when he said "This is the most fun we've had since Watergate,".
I guess conservatives will just have to be satisfied with Senator Chuck Schumer's description of Blagojevich's accuser, United States Attorney (and President of the Scooter Libby Fan Club) Patrick Fitzgerald:
"Mr. Fitzgerald is a prosecutor's prosecutor. He does not have a political bone in his body." What a shame Governor Blagojevich didn't have a Richard Armitage protecting his back.
As for me, I haven't had this much fun since Bill Clinton defined the word "is".
