The headline at Drudge:

An exclusive from the Washington Times:
A former Illinois bank official, now claiming whistleblower status, says bank officials replaced a loan reappraisal that he prepared for a Chicago property that was purchased by the wife of now-convicted felon Tony Rezko, part of which was later sold to next-door neighbor Barack Obama. In a complaint filed Thursday in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Kenneth J. Connor said that his reappraisal of Rita Rezko's property was replaced with a higher one and that he was fired when he questioned the document.
Mr. Connor, a real estate and commercial credit analyst at the Mutual Bank Corp. in Chicago, also noted in the complaint that the bank received a grand jury subpoena in October 2006 requiring it to produce information concerning Mrs. Rezko's purchase, including the bank's files on the property.
The complaint also said that the grand jury wanted information on Mrs. Rezko's checking account and loan file and that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) had audited the Rezko file - although Mr. Connor's lower reappraisal had been replaced with a higher amount.
"Connor's internal whistle-blowing activity at Mutual Bank implicates Mutual Bank and the potentially guilty officers thereof to prosecution under federal and Illinois statutes," said the complaint, filed by attorney Glenn R. Gaffney.
The complaint said Mutual Bank officials could be guilty of making false statements, willfully overvaluing property, bank fraud, witness retaliation, willful violation of a lawful subpoena, FDIC violations, and state banking regulations.

...except that it was all part of a larger transaction, and the property values were "modified" to make the Obama land purchase more reasonable-looking. The reason the value of the house was dropped so dramatically was to make it possible for Obama to buy it (without having to take the other $125,000 as a direct cash bribe).
Yes, it's a direct tie to the Obamas. Just like the arrest of the Illinois Governor is also a direct tie to Obama (he helped get Obama elected in EVERY race he ran in, including the Presidency, and was looking for political payback that wasn't coming fast enough and with enough cash).

Kim (here) and Drudge are being a bit disingenous in treating this as if it were new "news". If that complaint was so damning, why hasn't there been a follow-up since 10/18. Why wasn't it an issue pre-election? Because there's nothing there, at least not as far as a connection to Obama. As for the Blagojevich mess, good for Fitz. And as the complaint in that case makes clear, Obama's team specifically refused to play ball.

a) Do you know that Blagojevich directly tried to bribe the Obama team? I see nothing in the complaint indicating this happened.
b) How do you know that the Obama team didn't report the solicitation? Perhaps they were the ones that gave Fitz the tip. Jarrett pulled herself out of contention pretty quickly. Could be that Blagojevich did ask for something in return, they refused, then gave Jarrett a WH adviser slot and gave Fitz a call.
Fitz is probably a guy Obama wants to keep on during his administration and probably promote. He's a good prosecutor. I can the Obama team working with Fitz on this case, not against.

*no stories were reported in the national media about Obama's neighborhood, talking with constituents, or spotlighting past achievements in his home state and own district?
*the national media took Obama's excuse that he made a "boneheaded" move in getting a land deal from Mrs. Rezko (which he admitted himself), then never did any further investigations themselves?
*Gov Blagojevich, a governor, was not selected for nomination status, and Obama who had hardly any record and was a mere junior Senator was?

Could you at least compare apples to apples?
A comparison of Bush with "all the Republican corruption scandals," and a comparison of Obama with corruption in his own state, and with people he has had close relationships with (advising Gov Blagojevich, and Rezko being his number one political contributor, who effectively got his political career started) are two different things. These corruption scandals beg the question: how was Obama able to rise in the political cesspool of Chicago and Illinois?
JFO you just said something equally dumb. Perhaps it would help if you didn't engage in personal attacks. But Obots don't know how to do anything else.
