Today's winner is Benjamin Peter Anderson. He gets the award for the following-
For Benjamin Peter Anderson, 32, is definitely neither a woman nor pregnant.LOL, Did Mr. Anderson really think he could fool Australia's medicare system or was he just ignorant? Australia's Daily Telegraph called this 'silliest fraud of the year'. It is certainly a candidate for that title and that's why I name Benjamin Peter Anderson today's Knucklehead of the Day.But that didn't stop him trying to trick Medicare by claiming more than $2700 in obstetric and gynaecology rebates - for himself.
Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long for investigators to cotton on to his scam.
Anderson, from Queensland's Gold Coast, was convicted last week of creating false Medicare rebates.
He confessed to the crime after a Medicare investigation uncovered $2795 worth of fraudulent invoices and further suspected bogus claims.
"Medicare Australia's suspicions were confirmed when the Gold Coast man stated the obstetrics and gynaecology claims were for services provided to him," a Medicare spokeswoman said.

This is almost incomprehensible. Smart enought to devise a scam, but not smart enough to think of one that makes sense? http://rightklik.blogspot.com/

As stupid as this guy's scheme sounds, I wouldn't be at all surprised that he's the 10% that got caught and that many others are successfully pulling it off as we speak.
