As many commenters here and at other blogs suspected upon seeing the picture of Ashley after she said she was attacked, she has admitted that she made up the story. I said at the end of my original post, after some began to think she was lying, that the ATM video would indicate what happened. Well, the ATM video proved that she was in fact lying. According the report, she will also face charges. As far as I'm concerned, she deserves everything she gets. I'd say she also needs some serious counseling because it's obvious she's messed up.

Clearly we will be hearing more "intelligent" commentary in the manner of 'GB" as the day progresses. I suggest that those inclined to gloat in like manner return instead to their own campaign for an honest look at the crimes being foisted on the American public by their very candidate. We do not need any ATM footage to support the accusations.
But it would be nice if BO would stop hiding his financials. Oh my, that's right...he would then have to be charged with felonious activities. And that is only one subterfuge. So, GB, criminal activity by your candidate Vs. some idiot individual that no one ever heard of and who will now pass into oblivion.

Seems to me these stories always take between 24 and 48 hours to get the facts washed out of the mix.
So, being the level-headed blogger that I am, I will start writing my post-48-hour write-up on this incident this evening over a cold can of PBR and a cool head.
How it's done:
If ever there was a story that calls for the 48-Hour Rule of Blogging*, the one about the young woman in Pittsburgh supposedly getting the letter "B" scratched onto her face by a mugger who was enraged by her McCain bumper sticker would be it.
Hot Air has her picture up, and the first thing I (and others, I'm sure) thought of when I saw it was this jerk-off who made headlines back in December of 04.
* Wait a couple days for all the facts to come out before bloviating like a drunken Kennedy, so as to not write something prematurely, that makes you come across like a total doucheknob.

I don't hear any McCain supporters calling for Michelle Obama to be gang-raped by some Bubbas, the "Kill him!" story was made-up by a liberal reporter, and no AP reporter seems capable of taking a picture of Palin that isn't framed between her legs looking out at the crowd.
This girl is a stupid toady. I've seen pictures of people who've been beaten up and she clearly looked like she'd been playing in her make-up kit.

"Drudge has the headline in red. These Obama cultists are dangerous and out of control. What the hell will these people do if the messiah loses on November 4th? Is this the new strategy to get Obama elected? Vote Obama or we'll riot, mutilate people and destroy property? Keep in mind, community activists used intimidation to get banks to give home loans to minority and high risk customers. They stormed bank lobbies and scared away customers. They harassed bank presidents at their homes. It seems they're willing to go even further and actually mutilate a McCain supporter. Will voters with McCain signs in their front yards be targeted, too? To me, this is an argument to defeat Obama soundly on November 4th. We will not be intimidated into voting for Obama."

This is when things get out of hand; people are so consumed by a hatred for someone (whom they don't even know personally) that they can no longer think rationally. Instead, they grab on to any morsel (fact or fiction) that coincides with their desire to believe something.
And to use Kim's logic ("To me, this is an argument to defeat Obama soundly on November 4th. We will not be intimidated into voting for Obama."), I could say: "To me, this is an argument to defeat McCain soundly on November 4th. We will not be intimidated into voting for McCain."

Wherever in cyberspace one finds a political message board, postings from people on the left typically are better written than those from the right, containing superior levels of grammar, syntax, spelling and punctuation. Additionally, comments on the left tend to be more nuanced, showing a capacity for deeper thought, reflection and problem solving.
The Truth Thus Posits the following question: Are posters on the left generally a.) better educated or b.) more intelligent?
Caution to posters on the right: Don't be too hasty with your answer! Think it through first. Not all questions can be answered through reflexive, reductive, yes/no, good/bad, black/white, either/or levels of thought.
With that caution in mind, The Truth Will Now Give the Answer: Both a.) and b.)
One's politics are thus a fairly accurate measure of the quality of one's thinking, aren't they?

On the other hand, we now see that a McCain supporter is guilty of pretending to have been mutilated by a black man in an attempt to smear people who support Obama. What does that say about McCain supporters? is this the kind of behavior we can expect if McCain and holy Sarah palin are elected? ARE THESE PEOPLE DANGEROUSLY UNHINGED?

Larry, which metric(s) will you use to monitor a potential decline in standard of living? If overall GDP shrinks (as it certainly will--it's a global recession), that might indicate to you that Obama's policies are failing; however, more important measures include literacy and infant mortality. I expect these to improve under Obama's administration, though I don't expect the 25% of the population who currently support George W. Bush to give a shit one way or another because their 401Ks are going to continue to get pounded and they can only view things through a lens of crass selfishness.
I repeat: literacy, and infant mortality. Keep an eye on them, they will improve as a reflection of Obama's commitment to strong social programs, and your country will weather the financial nightmare into which we are all headed.
