It was reported two days ago that a South Florida congressman had an affair, and then paid the woman off. Now there is more to the story.
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Hours after a married congressman addressed a report that he had an affair with a former aide and paid her to keep quiet about, details of a purported tryst with a second woman surfaced.Let you familiarize you with the Congressional seat Mahoney holds. It is the Florida 16th, which was represented for 12 years by the now disgraced Mark Foley. The district leans Republican, but can be fairly competitive.Though Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney did not directly mention allegations first reported by ABC News, that he had been involved with the former aide, he issued a statement apologizing to his family but denying he'd done anything illegal.
Later Tuesday, a person close to his campaign told The Associated Press that Mahoney also was having an affair with a second woman around the same time.
Two affairs at the same time is a perversion to me, I think most voters will agree. Mahoney may have survived one affair but not two. He should resign, but I don't expect that to happen. Mahoney has already shown himself to have a big ego. One that is certain to get cut down to size on election day next month.
The Hill was reporting Democrat Operatives were cutting Mahoney loose, but the article has disappeared. I do think the Democratic party could be writing off the Florida 16th in November.

Culture of Corruption! Culture of Corruption! Now all we need for a Republican takeover in the House and Senate is a Democrat Senator saying something stupid that can be hysterically viewed as unacceptably racist, even for them.

I can assure you sir, I have a center. I am possess of much chi (the gym trainer tells me a bit too much, if you catch my drift).
This clown deserves to lose his seat (which I'm beginning to think may be cursed), even if that means ceding it back to the GOP. As Bill points out, one affair is survivable, as countless other politicians have proven. Anything beyond that should and will most assuredly break the camel's back.
I think Emanuel and co. will feign making it competive, but really just cut it loose, like running Alan Keyes against Sen. Obama in 2004. It's not like they need that seat to preserve their majority.

This how Democrats win elections by continually voting for their own corrupt who are then defended by their own party of corrupt lawyers and judges.
I am a 9/11 convert to Conservatism and from my observation at least Republicans go after their own corrupt, same cannot be said about Democrats who continue re-electing their corrupt.

If Mahoney were a Republican, the resulting hue and and cry from the MSM and other congressional voices would force him to resign by the end of the week.
But, he's a Democrat, so he'll probably get a committee chairmanship.

Mahoney was on borrowed time anyway. He was a fourth rate candidate picked to face a candidate that no one imagined would be vulnerable and scraped in on the back of a perfectly timed scandal. I suspect there are plenty of Democrats sort of relieved that they won't have to spend millions of dollars every two years bailing him out.
