These kids are already being taught to worship Obama as if he were some kind of god. That's what kids in North Korea, Cuba, Saddam Hussein's old Iraq, and other totalitarian regimes were taught to do as well. The purpose is if they grow up seeing their leaders as god-like they're less likely to rise up against them.
Check out the beginning of the video which says this took place at a neighbor's house in Venice, California, as if it were some kind of spontaneous, grassroots effort by a bunch of musically inclined neighborhood families, but the video itself doesn't support that. They have t-shirts with what looks like a professionally designed logo, and they had to have spent many hours with these kids teaching them to sing in harmony a song that doesn't sound like it was written by some random parent. Nope, I'm not buying what these Obama worshipers are selling.
Message: With Obama, all things are possible.
Update: Bookworm watched the video and couldn't help but think of the tactics Communists and Nazis used to ensnare and then indoctrinate children into placing loyalty to the State above their families.
Update II: Bob Owens at Confederate Yankee did a little research and found that this video was in fact not a spontaneous grassroots effort but was in fact put together by some very wealthy and well connected Hollywood types.

The Road to Serfdom Cartoon Version
The Road to Serfdom is a book written by Friedrich Hayek (recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1974) which has significantly shaped the political ideologies of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan and the concepts of 'Reagonomics' and 'Thatcherism'. It also led to the revival of Neoclassical economics in the West and lessening the Keynesian influence. The Road to Serfdom is among the most influential and popular expositions of classical liberalism and libertarianism.
Hayek's central thesis is that all forms of collectivism lead logically and inevitably to tyranny, and he used the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany as examples of countries which had gone down "the road to serfdom" and reached tyranny. Hayek argued that within a centrally planned economic system, the distribution and allocation of all resources and goods would devolve onto a small group, which would be incapable of processing all the information pertinent to the appropriate distribution of the resources and goods at the central planners' disposal. Disagreement about the practical implementation of any economic plan combined with the inadequacy of the central planners' resource management would invariably necessitate coercion in order for anything to be achieved. Hayek further argued that the failure of central planning would be perceived by the public as an absence of sufficient power by the state to implement an otherwise good idea. Such a perception would lead the public to vote more power to the state, and would assist the rise to power of a "strong man" perceived to be capable of "getting the job done". After these developments Hayek argued that a country would be ineluctably driven into outright totalitarianism. For Hayek "the road to serfdom" inadvertently set upon by central planning, with its dismantling of the free market system, ends in the destruction of all individual economic and personal freedom.
Hayek argued that countries such as the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany had already gone down the "road to serfdom", and that various democratic nations are being led down the same road. In The Road to Serfdom he wrote: "The principle that the end justifies the means is in individualist ethics regarded as the denial of all morals. In collectivist ethics it becomes necessarily the supreme rule."

From Wiki:
"Generally, personality cults are most common in regimes with totalitarian systems of government, that seek to radically alter or transform society according to revolutionary new ideas. Often, a single leader becomes associated with this revolutionary transformation, and comes to be treated as a benevolent "guide" for the nation, without whom the transformation to a better future cannot occur. This has been generally the justification for personality cults that arose in totalitarian societies of the 20th century, such as those of Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler."
Evan Peron is an example of personality cults from democracies.

And now this? Damn, but we're living in interesting times. It's funny, but I never thought we'd elect a dictator by public acclaim - all the hyperventilating by the left about Bush's intent to set up a theocratic hereditary dictatorship now just seems to be their telling us what THEY intended...
I wonder where they'll establish the gulags?

In the Bush video, the kids are praying to God for Bush. In the Obama video, they appear to be praying to Obama. Big diff., although, I'd not subject my kid to either, probably.
This whole Obama phenomenon does have a creepy, Manchurian Candidate feel to it, with the propaganda perfectly presented, and deflection of any real criticism of Dear Leader O.
I hope we never see this again. It's bad for the country, and those poor kids. Can't have an honest debate with the Obamassiah worshipers without deflection to rants over race, class, and the rest of it.
What a negative approach to life, when you think about it. "The Man's tryin' to screw me again!" Sheesh.

My first thoughts were of the Chinese Olympic "entertainment" productions at the opening and closing ceremonies. They used kids (and even lip synced at least one kid).

Yeah, but there's a difference. The children in the Jesus Camp clip are being encouraged to pray for George Bush. In the singing video, the children are being instructed to sing to Obama.
I would classify the Jesus Camp clip as weird, perhaps even very weird, but singing hymns to Obama as if he is some kind of "Dear Leader" is downright creepy.

Indoctrination and Exploitation of Youth
September 30, 2008 by texasdarlin
Obama's Youth Sing for "Dear Leader"
Hitler's Youth Sing "Tomorrow Belongs to Me"
A comment I found on another blog:
This reminds me of when I was back in Cuba as a little girl in kindergarten. We were made to sing praises to Fidel and this is exactly what it looked/sounded like.
Also the teacher would ask for us to sit down at our desks, bow our heads, and pray to God for some ice cream. Of course, after she told us to open our eyes there was no ice cream. Then she would ask us to do the same, this time asking Fidel for the ice cream. When we were told to open our eyes they'd placed an ice cream cup in front of each one of us and we were then asked to give praise to Fidel for providing us with all our needs.
Indoctrination of the youth, the simplest way to spread the Communist propaganda. After all, children are pretty much a clean slate and you can easily program their minds with whatever heinous doctrines you wa nt to put there without too much effort...

Thanks beyond measure. Hayek says it like no other. And yet our pols ignore. Women swoon and men feel tingles in the legs when the New Adonis takes the podium. Children sing paeans to Dear Leader in the same affectionate gesticulation of Mao's beloved red-scarved urchins in Bejing.
Yes we need to be reminded that the R.T.S. is usually a gradual process, and begins in earnest with real problems, with phony solutions that ignore economic and human realities.
Europe has the moribund, demograpically challenged inertia variety. No strongman, and not even the ability of the old codgers to mount a horse. But serfdom they have.

Other Great Leaders whose humble servents swoon and legs tingle have had their praises to a Glorious Future!
This is a real song sung by Maoist Youth. No dbout a video version of this would show the smiling urchins moving their hands like swans and swaying from side to side with a music teacher waving her hands. How charming:
"Socialism is Good" (pinyin: Shehuizhuyi Hao, Chinese:社会主义好), a modern rock adaptation of which was performed by Zhang Qu and featured on the 1990s album Red Rock (pinyin: Hongse Yaogun, Chinese characters: 红色摇滚).
Observe:
"Socialism is good, socialism is good!
In socialist nations, the people have high status.
Overthrow the reactionaries. Imperialism flees with its tail between its legs.
The entire nation is in great unity and has raised the socialist construction to a new height, to a new height.
Socialism is good, socialism is good!
The people protect the socialist system.
The popular capacity is solid, the resistance of reactionary cliques is completely futile.
The socialist society will definitely succeed, a communist society will definitely be achieved, will definitely be achieved!
The Communist Party is good! The Communist Party is good!
The Communist Party is a good leader for the people.
It holds its promises and works of any heart for the people.
Firmly anchored to the Communist Party, it is necessary to complete, complete the construction of our great fatherland!
The Communist Party is good! The Communist Party is good!
The Communist Party guides China on the way of the power.
The popular capacity is solid, the resistance of reactionary cliques is destined to fail.
The socialist society will definitely succeed, a communist society will definitely be achieved, will definitely be achieved!
