One of the wonderful things about global warming is that no matter what happens with the weather, it can always be blamed on global warming. Of course, that only works if you're one of the Goracle's Kool-Aid drinkers. Any kind of weather symptoms whatsoever mean that global warming is real. Really hot? Global warming. Really cold? Global warming. Too many hurricanes? Global warming. Too few hurricanes? Global warming. Flooding due to excessive rain? Global warming. Droughts due to not enough rain? Global warming.
And on and on and on it goes.
Now, of course, for those of us who don't drink the Kool-Aid, stories like this one give us a lot of skepticism:
The Spokane area saw record low temperatures and even a little bit of snow Tuesday morning, and all just 11 days before the official start of summer.Much of the Inland Northwest remained under a snow warning from the National Weather Service Tuesday morning. KHQ received calls from people in Reardan, Moscow, Pullman, Loon Lake, Airway Heights, Deary, Spokane's South Hill, and Deer Park who all say they saw snow Tuesday morning.
According to the National Weather service, Spokane's low temperature dipped all the way down to 36 degrees. A trace of snow was also recorded at the airport.
Forecasters expected 5 to 10 inches of wet snow above the 3,500-foot level Tuesday morning in the Cascades with lesser amounts down to 2,500 feet. A Transportation Department spokesman said it's been about 30 years since a snowplow has had to clear Stevens Pass in June.
In Port Orchard, on the west side of Washington, South Kitsap High School had to cancel classes today because of a power outage. It's one of about 6,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in Kitsap County that lost service in Monday night's windstorm.
Forecasters say the cold low-pressure system is moving east and high pressure should bring temperatures back to near-normal 60s by Thursday in Washington. The temperature made it up to only 55 on Monday at Sea-Tac Airport. The National Weather Service says that was a record low-maximum. The old record was 55, set just last year.
Other record low-maximums Monday were 54 at Hoquiam and 54 at Bellingham.
Here's pictures of the global warming in action:

The global warming scam is falling apart at the seams. Even the founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman, isn't a believer:
Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980's and 1990's as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years. So, I ask Al Gore, where's the global warming? The cooling trend is so strong that recently the head of the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change had to acknowledge it. He speculated that nature has temporarily overwhelmed mankind's warming and it may be ten years or so before the warming returns. Oh, really. We are supposed to be in a panic about man-made global warming and the whole thing takes a ten year break because of the lack of Sun spots. If this weren't so serious, it would be laughable.
...
So now the global warming myth actually has lead to the chaos we are now enduring with energy and food prices. We pay for it every time we fill our gas tanks. Not only is it running up gasoline prices, it has changed government policy impacting our taxes, our utility bills and the entire focus of government funding. And, now the Congress is considering a cap and trade carbon credits policy. We the citizens will pay for that, too. It all ends up in our taxes and the price of goods and services.
So the Global warming frenzy is, indeed, threatening our civilization. Not because global warming is real; it is not. But because of the all the horrible side effects of the global warming scam.
I love this civilization. I want to do my part to protect it.
If Al Gore and his global warming scare dictates the future policy of our governments, the current economic downturn could indeed become a recession, drift into a depression and our modern civilization could fall into an abyss. And it would largely be a direct result of the global warming frenzy.
My mission, in what is left of a long and exciting lifetime, is to stamp out this Global Warming silliness and let all of us get on with enjoying our lives and loving our planet, Earth.
It's time that we Americans stop letting our lives be dictated by the threat of global warming. We've been tricked by a snake oil salesman, someone who wanted to play on our fears to further his agenda. The scare tactics and fraudulent science being used are deplorable, and it's time we stop allowing ourselves to be fooled. You want to see global warming in action, then go rent "The Day After Tomorrow". Otherwise, be smart and let this go.

I don't know of a single climate change denier and it's unlikely that you do either. It's not about climate change, it's about global warming. Yes that's climate change, but so is global cooling. The issue is not even about global warming, but rather it's about human caused global warming. That's what the IPCC is reporting on. That's what's behind the "carbon footprint" idea. That's what carbon cap and trade is all about. Anyone who claims that's not the issue is a denier. You can't be taken seriously on this subject if you don't know or are unwilling to acknowledge what the real issue is.

I just read Climate Confusion: How Global Warming Hysteria Leads to Bad Science, Pandering Politicians, and Misguided Policies That Hurt the Poor.
I'm pretty sure cultists like you will never try to understand (much less "really relate"...whatever the hell that means) to that book. Unless you guys get some legislation passed quickly, you and your cult will quickly be forgotten by the majority of oxygen breathing capitalists here in the US who not only know the difference between science and BS but who also have not succumbed to the carbon credit ponzi scheme.
BTW lava, we are still waiting for a cogent, well thought out post that actually argues a point well made. Show us you can do that.

Climate changes all the time. I do not deny that. The fact is we cannot do anything to stop it, so we are wasting time and money trying instead of learning to adapt.

I think the only good thing to come of the fear festival that the GW group has done is really push the idea of living "green" more mainstream. More people are conscious of their decisions that effect the environment. The oil situation has also helped push this way of thinking. Look at the Organic foods popularity. Living with less chemicals, more efficient fuel burning vehicles, and energy saving housing ideas has become a much bigger part of our lives than ten years ago. Thats all I can come up with to give the GW any positive spin.

You can say the same thing about the other side. If there's an exceptionally hot day, then there's silence. If on the other hand you have an exceptionally cold day, then it is counter-evidence of global warming. As Cassy so clearly demonstrates in this very post.
