Really, you are the one who is trying to make what Scrapiron said racist. The fact is that the black community has a problem with godammed America. Now, is it 90%? Could be, although I would doubt it. As the good Reverends Jeremiah Wright and Jesse Jackson rail on the disenfranchisement of black America, are they just choosing not to participate? Instead of the message that America's been keeping them down, shouldn't it be that they can choose to not be victims? The message should be a positive one of education, family, and participation. But, ask Juan Williams, Bill Cosby, and Thomas Sowell what happens when you deliver that message. I mean, c'mon. Jackson and Wright need to keep up their lifestyles, y'know?

But, back to the topic. Many young Americans are learning about what it's like to work for a cause bigger than themselves - America - in the military. And then they come home to their neighborhoods with purpose and a knowledge that hard work and pride in yourself - regardless of race - puts money in your pocket and a future on your horizon. And you are immediately confronted with an element that exists in the lowest of society: Somebody who wants what you have without the effort that you have expended.

It's their lives. It's not up to the Sharptons, Jacksons, or Wrights who are using them for the color of their skin. It is up to them to take control of their individual lives. After all, the Constitution was written to protect the rights of the smallest minority...individuals.

It may shock you to know that my black friends would call you the racist. They paid for their educations while working full-time jobs. They saved every bit of extra cash to buy real-estate. They enrolled in company stock purchase programs. They recognized that waiting on the government to buoy them up would be a sure disaster and wouldn't allow them to reach the dreams they had for them and their children. They wanted more. They wanted the American Dream. He was the son of a Haitian immigrant who grew up in New York. They have 2 sons who were taught that this great country offers the realization of any dream by hard work and belief. I've watched him weep as he talks about all the blessings that he has received in the Unites States. He is truly an American.

How close of friends are they? Their son is engaged to my daughter. And no father has ever been prouder of his girl and her fiance.

Not all Americans are what I would characterize as true Americans. I would define a true American as those who would describe the true American Dream as envisioned by our forefathers: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"...True Americans believe that this country was founded on the belief that man has rights to self-evident principles, not material things. These principles are independent of race. Since nobody can judge the contents of a man's heart, I believe it impossible to ascribe a specific distribution of true Americans within a particular race. However, I will say that blacks are uniquely bombarded by their self-described leadership with certain doctrines of entitlement. The difference between you and I is that I believe that man is uniquely gifted with the intellect to self-govern. You believe that the black man can't make it without the government's help. Racism is defined as a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.
