I have been reading and hearing all over the place about how much everyone hates President Bush. There's no doubt that the haters are loud and rather hot-tempered on that question. Yet I also continue to run into people who still think he's done a good job, all things considered, and quite a few who believe - as I do - that a few years from now we will wish he was still in the Oval Office.
So here are a set of questions, simple questions which deserve clear, simple answers. Try to respect other opinions, and please keep in mind that this is just a sampling of our site and readers, not anything that is going to be worth shouting about; it's useful as a local barometer, is all.
1. Yes or no, do you think President Bush has done a good job overall as President?
2. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being complete failure and 10 being a great President, how would you grade President Bush?
3. Yes or no, do you approve of President Bush personally?
4. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being an absolute disgrace and 10 being extremely honorable and personable, how would you grade George W. Bush, the man?
5. Yes or no, do you believe the next President will do as good a job as President Bush has done (for this question, you may note whom you expect to win in November) ?
6. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a complete failure and 10 being a great President, how well do you expect the next President to do (for this question, you may note whom you expect to win in November)?
7. In general, do you think this site is more conservative, more liberal, or generally reflects the American public opinion?
Thanks.
UPDATE: A couple idiots have tried to hijack the thread. You can express your opinion on the thread as you like, with two conditions :
1. Stick to the questions asked.
2. Stay off personal attacks.
Normally I let the morons' posts stand so everyone can review your proof of rhetorical inbreeding, but I throw hijackers off the plane. Capisce?

Bush is, personally, an honorable man. He does not lie and he leads as he feels best for the future of America. His inability -- and arrogant unwillingness - to communicate and persuade has done great damage to his policies and to the Republican Party.
If we are successful in Iraq - standing up a Democracy and an ally - he will go down in history as a visionary leader.

The pluses - two great SCOTUS picks, resolve in the war on terror, lower taxes, Africa policy.
The minuses - ag subsidies/ethanol boondoggle, spending - particularly the drug bill, immigration, too nice/a wimp.
A wimp you say? Totally. Bush has never really battled back against his critics. I wish he had the Clintons' stones. Now he's essentially paralyzed when it comes to dealing with Iran and Syria.
Whoever's next won't be any better - they're all to the left of Bush on at least some issues. Considering the judicial appointments likely to be at stake - warts and all, McCain talks the talk - any conservative would be a fool to sit this out and hand the WH to BHO or HRC.

I would greade him an 8.
I don't agree with his immigration policies and I believe that he was way way too accomodating to the liberals and that ended up hurting him.

I believe that he acts in the best interest of the country at a great personal cost. I beleive that he is severly underrated as a person.
5. Yes or no, do you believe the next President will do as good a job as President Bush has done (for this question, you may note whom you expect to win in November) ?
I expect John McCain to win in Nov 08. I believe he will also be a good president and I believe that he will put americans first, at great cost to himself and I think that he too will give too much lee-way to the liberals who will tear him apart anytime they can.
6. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a complete failure and 10 being a great President, how well do you expect the next President to do (for this question, you may note whom you expect to win in November)?
I believe that John McCain will be about an 7 to 8 on the scale.

I believe that its more conservative and thats a good thing. There is lots of common sense, accountablity and all around fairness. This site is not as hate filled as liberal sites, even tho you occasionally have problems...but all in all, a very pleasent, positive site with accurate news items.

In my opinion it would be very difficult for anyone to match or exceed the caliber of integrity displayed continually by President Bush in the face of the most abysmal, despicable personal attacks ever levied against a president of the United States.
In addition, his ability to carry through on his commitments regarding Iraq and Afghanistan prove his strength of character. He took thought and then committed, but did not weasel out of his commitments when the brain dead left began their never ending assaults on his character and policies.
6. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a complete failure and 10 being a great President, how well do you expect the next President to do (for this question, you may note whom you expect to win in November)?
McCain has a chance to be a good president if he can articulate his intentions and then carry through without the sort of compromises that would undermine his intent. I'm not saying that there is not place for compromise, but there are times, as President Bush has shown the world, when a man must stand tall and carry through on his decisions.
History will judge George Bush far more kindly than the hateful minds in the present. That's how historical perspective works. When enough time has gone by to settle the distortion that accompanies hatred and passion so that his overall accomplishments may be viewed as they are and not as they are portrayed by the current media, it will be clear what a dedicated man can accomplish.
The people of Iraq will bless his courage and vision as they live freely in a country that at last belongs to the people.
7. In general, do you think this site is more conservative, more liberal, or generally reflects the American public opinion?
More conservative as it should be. You will not find many, if any, sites on the left that will bear with the severity and rancor that some have brought to this board. There is a great forbearance at this site for a divergence of views which is a truly wonderful thing.
Fact is, leftist sites will generally ban a conservative as soon as they determine the politics. Leftists are simply unable to accept criticism of any kind which is I think. going to be the downfall of Obama, should the fickle finger of fate poke us in the eye by putting him in the White House.
