Oh, boy. Here's video of Aliza Shvarts, the girl I just wrote about earlier today, who made an art project out of artificially inseminating herself as often as possible, and then -- somehow -- giving herself home abortions.
Well, here's Aliza ranting against the "institution", and the "establishment", the "patriarchal heteronormative"... and a lot of other crap. Try to figure out what kind of point she was trying to make, because I couldn't figure out what she was saying. It's the definition of talking and talking without saying a word.
Is she just the definiton of a spoiled rich brat wanting to feel important or what?!
Welcome to the modern feminist movement.
Hat Tip: American Digest
Update: Yale officials confirm that the art project is a hoax. The act of committing the hoax was the project...

If it is a stunt, then it is effective, give her kudos for that. The problem in her reasoning is that she equates the fact that she has an internal space consuming personhood that holds opinions with the fact that nobody cares (or didn't until this effective marketing stunt), because the effect of speech on those who hear it is usually based on content, not packaging, present stunt notwithstanding. She holds the no doubt institutionally supported YouTube idea that "if I can publish, then I must be important", unfortunately everybody can publish. In her Lake Wobegon world, everybody, herself included, is above average and worthy of attention.

I agree with Eric F. The only reason she's not locked up is the laws were changed by the liberals a few years ago to allow her to sign herself out of the mental facility as soon as she remembers her name. How many thousands of Americans have died at the hands of the mentally ill that should not be on the street?

They took down the vid of her rant, but revealed she is a "performance artist," and it was all part of the "art" she was "performing." There were NO self-inseminations, NO abortion pills, NO miscarriages in the bathtub, NO "art" of the results.
I don't know if it qualifies as any more of a "hoax" than the notion of "performance art" itself (although "stunt" seems to fit the bill nicely).

I find it interesting that all these big "controversial" art projects are -- almost without exception -- produced by elitist, over-educated liberals attempting to incense red-state, conservative Middle America, thus proving how backward and ignorant and "bitter" we are.
What I'd really like to see is something I proposed a long time ago to my friends -- someone pees in a jar, drops a photo of Martin Luther King in it, and then declares it art, thereby incensing elitist, over-educated liberals. What would happen to that "artist," compared to what will happen to Ms. Shvartz (which is absolutely nothing, save for perhaps an NEA endowment when she graduates). Now that would be a real eye-opening project.
