Last month, I noted that Michael Monsoor was to posthumously receive the Medal of Honor, and yesterday it became official. President Bush presented the award to Monsoor's parents in an emotional ceremony; video here.
Michelle Malkin has the transcript of the President's remarks.
Blackfive notes that virtually no MSM outlets are covering this. Michael Monsoor is the fourth Medal of Honor recipient in the War on Terror. The New York Times only felt they needed to print an embarassing 78 words about the pending award, and then had to correct the story.
Again, my sincerest gratitude and prayers go to the Monsoor family. I can only hope that all of us in this country can find it in ourselves to be worthy of your son's sacrifice.

Most of us sleep peacefully each night because of these heros; unfortunately, turds such as Arthur Ochs (Pinch) Sulzberger, Jr. also share this protection.

This is just another example of the country's self-centeredness.
My dh (US soldier) and I were in an appliance store where the salesman went on how his kids weren't serving because he was afraid of what might happen to them. I was so mad I had to walk away. It is okay for my husband to die for your very freedom, but oh, not me(or my kids). My husband is more of a man than most men in this country. He is willing to die to protect every persons right to freedom. What can anyone (who doesn't serve) say they are willing to do?
Thank you Cassey for bringing this up and shining a light on it.

There is one news outlet that did cover the ceremony and that was Fox News. They showed the ceremony from beginning to end. A great big kudos to Fox for having the cajones to show what the American people want from the media. That is why I watch Fox News. The American people should turn off the MSM and watch Fox News exclusively.

Not that any of the readers of this blog would have watched it, but CBS covered the story last night, too.

There was a lengthy heartfelt piece on NPR Tuesday AM which included interviews with family members and one of his high school coaches. It was very touching.
