A lot of people seem content to just resign themselves to an Obama presidency. Well, newsflash folks, Obama's presidency is not inevitable, and it isn't likely to be just another "Carter presidency". It isn't likely to give us another Reagan, either -- great leaders like don't come around every four years. I'm not going to lecture anyone right now about supporting McCain, but I do want to remind people of just what we'll be getting into by settling for Obama. Here's a refresher on the problems we have with Barack Hussein Obama, the most liberal senator in the United States Senate:
Feel free to reproduce these links -- apparently we need to be reminded of just what it is we'll be getting with an Obama presidency.

Obama associated with violent anti-war radicals in the 1960s, including some whose acts escalated to terrorism.
You might want to rephrase this one. He didn't associate with the radicals in the 60's; he associated with former 60's radicals in the 90's.
It is actually quite a big difference in meaning.

Cassy,
You make some points about Obama but at the same time-
"Obama is a Che Guevara fan "
That's as rational as the debate over Obama based on the photo that stirred the blogosphere yesterday. Its called by fallacy by association as Alex Knepp pointed out at OTB
The Nazi Party supported building a large, national highway system.
President Eisenhower supported building a large, national highway system.
Therefore, President Eisenhower was a Nazi.
James Joyner also wrote-
Yes, I'm "interested in rejecting what seems to be easy pandering and hackery." But not simply out of high-mindedness, drug induced or otherwise. Frankly, there are plenty of good reasons for conservatives to oppose electing Obama president. Making mountains of aspiring molehills weakens our case rather than strengthening it.
You also wrote- "As President, Obama is promising us 850 billion dollars in new spending, 850 billion of which will likely be wasted."
It isn't likely 850 billion will be wasted. Out of that some good will come. There are worthwhile projects for the government to assist. That the whole sum of 850 is going to be burned is more than a little over the top. This kind of picking is not all that different than the riddicule shown towards Hillary for picking on Obama's kindergarten record.
There are logical reasons to oppose Obama. I freely admit voting for him in the Florida Democratic primary. What choice did I have? Vote for Hillary then? It will take nothing short of a major miracle to see me vote for a Democrat for President in 2008.
Bill

The National Review nailed it:
"..for a white woman to marry a black man in 1958, or 60, there was almost inevitably a connection to explicit Communist politics. "
And that leads to:
"It was, of course, an explicit tactic of the Communist party to stir up discontent among American blacks, with an eye toward using them as the leading edge of the revolution. "

If we only heeded the warning of the National Review all those years ago:
"The central question that emerges...is whether the white community in the South is entitled to take such measures as are necessary to prevail politically and culturally, in areas in which it does not predominate numerically.
The sobering answer is YES -- the white community is entitled because, for the time being, it is the advanced race."

Obama is not the Agent of Change. He is a calculating politician who plays the game the same way politicians have been playing it for hundreds of years - receiving money in exchange for favors from government for his friends and cronies. And if Mike Royko were alive, one has to believe that despite agreeing with his politics, Royko would have been relentless in taking Obama down, hammering away in his own inimitable style at the influence selling, the sweetheart deals, the pay for favors, and all the rest of this sleazy mess.

He did not say it's "unpatriotic" (which you put in quotes, but you cannot find an actual quote of him saying that).
He said it's a gesture that became cliched as a superficial indicator of patriotism, even when the bearer was not acting patriotic, and that he preferred to act patriotic rather than simply adjust his wardrobe so as to appeal to the little minds out there.

I wasn't talking US Code up above, Barney - the custom as I've been taught and generations of kids has been taught is to place your hand over your heart if you're a civilian. I realize it's just jingoistic patriotism, man, designed to keep the little people down, man, and you gotta stand up against the Man, man, otherwise, man, people might think you're part OF the Man... but...
And we won't even go into US code for saluting the flag, which is normally done when the National Anthem plays.(But for future reference - since you mentioned it, here it is. And here's one for what you do when the flag is being raised, lowered, or passes by. THEY confirm the custom.)
But don't get your panties in a wad, Barney. There's no punishment attached for breaking it. So be sure to bend over and fart loudly at appropriate times, just so people will KNOW you refuse to buckle under to the Man's expectations!
Seriously - if you're going to refer to current US Code, refer to CURRENT US Code. Don't dredge up something 65+ years old that has some resemblance to something that's being referred to in the argument. And for what it's worth, if someone running for President won't even bother to salute the flag of his country at the appropriate time - well, how much respect would HE show ME?
