ABC's 20/20 is running a special 90 minute report on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. In the broadcast Joran van der Sloot confesses on tape that he was in fact responsible for the disappearance of the American girl in Aruba.
de Vries' website has a summary of the story and ABC News has already covered last night's broad seen by over seven million viewers in The Netherlands; a whopping 79.3 percent of the TV viewing audience.
van der Sloot is now saying he lied in the tapes, but it's pretty clear he thought (and still thinks) he's invincible and was more than happy to brag a little to his best friend. The chances for a criminal case in Aruba are still just about nil, but Natalee's mom Beth Twitty should really consider a civil case in the U.S. or The Netherlands. That worked out pretty well in the OJ case...

What did he "confess" to, anyway? It sounds like he is saying that she died (not "was killed") and he was there and maybe helped dispose of her body.
What are they going to charge him with? Corpse desecration? Perjury?

The biggest problem with this runt's story is what he doesn't say.
If he had nothing to hide, he would have called the police and his father for help. A young girl has convulsions over just drinking too much? I don't think so. The unfortunate thing is all they have to go on is this tape and maybe some thin testimony with a reopened case.
I honestly believe if her body were found, an autopsy would show another substance in her system that has a fatal effect if ingested with too much alcohol. Minus that evidence means we'll never know for sure if he drugged her and ended up killing her. Plans he had for Holloway went terribly wrong so he had someone else cover this up for him.
My thoughts and prayers are with Natalee's mother, she appears very strong and at peace in that most recent video. She should file a wrongful death suit with this video as evidence and go all out with the amount in damages. This crime reporter has already taken care of the revelation of the true nature of this scoundrel.

Hey guys, this blog has been covering the dutch media on her disappearance. Apparently Joran's lawyers just offered a deal to the prosecutors.

I'm so damn tired of this 'story'. If she weren't blonde and cute, this would have dropped off the radar two years back. As it is, now we'll be subjected to endless updates on who did what to whom and when and why and how...
Because there's not a damn thing going on in the world that's more important that this? GAAAH!

It's too bad there's no permanent record of the comings and goings of the boat in question (like there would be for an airplane).

Has anyone investigated who this Daury with the boat might be?
