Today's winner is Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur. She gets the award for the following.
U.S. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur came to a House committee hearing on Thursday prepared to ask U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson tough questions about his involvement in the subprime mortgage crisis.Congresswoman I suggest you do some proper research in the future before hearings. Nothing needs to be clarified for the record when I name you Marcy Kaptur today's Knucklehead of the Day.Unfortunately, she was questioning the chairman of the Federal Reserve.
The Ohio Democrat, at a House of Representatives Budget Committee hearing, said she wanted to know what Wall Street firms were responsible for the securitization of subprime mortgages. She then asked: "Seeing as how you were the former CEO of Goldman Sachs ..." But the only person testifying at the hearing interrupted.
"No, no, no, you're confusing me with the Treasury Secretary," said Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
"I've got the wrong firm? Paulson, Oh, OK. Where were you sir?" Kaptur said. Bernanke noted that he was head of the Princeton University economics department.
"Oh, Princeton, oh, all right, sorry. I got you confused with the other one ... I'm glad you clarified that for the record," she said.

I was suprised that an elected official would be so bold to not even know or care whore they were talking to.... until i realized it was a democrat. Obviously a little thing like having the right person in front of them shouldn't get in the way of spouting off their talking point.

Kaptur is usually good for a howler. If brains were beans, she wouldn't have enough to make a bee fart.
Of course, given the size of Princeton's endowment, they probably rival Goldman-Sachs' capitalization. But they aren't a "Big Bank," or part of "Big Oil" or "Big Pharm," so what should she call them for demonization purposes?
I like "Big Ed" myself . . .

Seriously: How do you not know who the Chairman of the Federal Reserve is & what he looks like? Shouldn't this be a test of basic Congressional intelligence -- as in, if you don't know, you're not paying enough attention to warrant your congressional seat?

You voted against this one because you support the asshat? Or, maybe you're sad for the asshat.
Either way, you sir/sirs, are also an asshat.

Gee, you hadn't noticed the regular and idiotic voting down on the most generic/non-political posts?
I suspect, with absolutely zero proof, it's the Blue Crew trolling their way over here. They have nothing better to do in that echo chamber, they must come out for air sometime.
