In the Middle East, a deal has been brokered between Israel and Hezbollah. Israel is trading one live terrorist and two dead ones for the body of one dead Israeli civilian. This is the latest in a long series of such trades, establishing the currency that even a dead Jew is worth as much -- or more -- as a live terrorist.
This is supposed to be "groundwork" for a future trade, one that will return the two kidnapped Israeli soldiers whose seizure triggered last year's Israel-Hezbollah war in southern Lebanon.
Remember, this is the Islamist mindset: hostages are valuable currency. Even dead hostages have value. because they know we revere life and respect humanity far, far more than they do.
And the next time you hear the phrase "clash of civilizations," kindly correct the speaker. For this to be a clash of civilizations, there have to be two civilizations. This is a clash FOR civilization.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah assembles a 50,000-man army to take over the Lebanese government (on behalf of their sponsors, Iran and Syria).
And yet we maintain the fiction that it is possible to "negotiate peace" with those who are sworn to destroy us.
A new President who sought to advance the cause of peace in the world, and America's peaceful interests therein, ought to fire the State Department - every man, woman, and bureaucrat, down to and including the janitorial staff, just to be on the safe side.
