John Hawkins has a column today about the legacy of the Daily Kos blog. He includes lots of quotes from the "best of" Kos.

Someone should put up a best of Wizbang. Would be an interesting comparison if the site had readership/influence. The Kossacks are partying hard right now and I can understand the envy.

I can think of a few examples:
-Harry Reid's illegal land deal
-Jews in Iran have to wear badges
-keith ellison called the cops on Tancredo
-Haditha was a hoax

Make the pie higher!

This is a recent example of what nutbars the Kos kids are:

The looming collapse of the US military in Iraq, of which a number of generals and former generals, including former Chief of Staff Colin Powell, have warned, is happening none too soon, as it may be the best hope for preventing military rule here at home.

From the looks of things, the Bush/Cheney regime has been working assiduously to pave the way for a declaration of military rule, such that at this point it really lacks only the pretext to trigger a suspension of Constitutional government. They have done this with the active support of Democrats in Congress, though most of the heavy lifting was done by the last, Republican-led Congress.

Pure, paranoid and nutbar.

jp2, all one must do is look at your comments here, over time to see what you really are. Not crazy enough for Kos. For anyone to compare Wizbang with the Daily Kos. Well let us just say this. The hate available on DK in a single day is greater than that all the trolls who have ever commented here have generated that includes the idiot, Lee Ward.

But to compare Wizbang AUTHORS to Kos authors... well, perhaps if you include a Kos wannabe or two over at Blue, you might have a fair comparison.

Of course, you can expect Democrats to deny that the Daily Kos is a poison well of extremism, conspiracies, and anti-American sentiment. However, let's take a look at what some of the writers on that blog -- note that I said the writers, not just people leaving comments -- have had to say.
Most notoriously, the founder of the Daily Kos, Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, wrote this about American contractors who were murdered in Iraq and had their bodies desecrated,

Proven-false information, conspiracy theories, or debunked talking points.

The whole page is pretty funny and while they go to great lengths to talk about trolls they completely neglect to hold their authors to the same standards. Every bit of it is subject to one's political viewpoint. Trolls are anyone to the right of center. Period.

Yes, and at Kos commenters get diaries. Even you. Everyone gets diaries. Can you imagine if you let some of these people write leading stories? It's bad enough already.
