Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Paul Zeise on a local TV talk show discussing the Michael Vick case. Zeise has since apologized for the analogy. Clearly he should should have used the "better off committing a double-murder" analogy...

Yes, the Vick case is certainly a greater political concern that Iraq, Afghanistan, a nuclear Iran, the West Bank, Gaza, health care, the 2008 Presidential race, immigration reform (or lack thereof), Alberto Gonzales, wire-tapping, Rendition, former Gitmo detainees returning to the battlefield, Pakistan and, of course, trying to figure if Sen. Robert Byrd is the long-lost brother of one Montgomery Burns, nuclear power plant owner/tycoon in Springfield, USA.

ok the analogy sucked but the point was legit... Animal cruelty is still one of the few taboos left in out culture.
